JCW09 color choices PW vs BRG.

Hello everyone:
So I have been pondering about these two choices. I currently own a Jet Black R53 with 17" BBS RGR's and think its a pretty gorgeous setup of course. But now that I will be moving on with the new JCW09, to my surprise I looked closely to the Astro Black and that is not black, its blue!!! Yikes, i can't do that and won't go there.
So I decided to take this opportunity and try two different schemes. One been Pepper White body with Black roof line (no sunroof!..I cant believe I will do it this time around but I barely use it and want to keep the sporty feeling all throughout) or same configuration but BRG body color. Of course the ride will have the JCW Aero kit installed but I don't want to paint the wheel arches.
The only thing I thought was to add a set of Bronze Tenzo 18's since I don't want to lower the car this time around but think the color looks great. If there was the option of RGR 18's made by BBS that would be the perfect setup for me.
So what do you guys think? ...I have to admit, I'm leaning towards Pepper White although I wish Mini would get their color schemes tight and not this half way colors like Astro -Black or Pepper- White.

me too! in production PW/Blk , JCW clubman. i too liked the BRG but didn't like the color choices for interior. NO chocolate what i noticed in viewing mini publications, especially Modern Mini, the classifieds. the one color that stands out the most, i think .... PW. other colors BRG you need to really look at pic. it could be astro blk. same goes for silver, could be s/s , silver, maybe even white.

My main issue with PW is that it isn't white! (it's a light cream color). For instance, a true white would be what you see on an Audi A4 for example. That is really white, but so far leaning that direction for sure.

I have a feeling you might have the same issue with the pepper white. I also thought of the dark grey but it seems too neutral.
Gloss Black....hmmm that's perfect! Going to ask my MA to check when that will be in. I might put on hold my spot if thats happening later in the year. Don't mind waiting a month or two extra since I still have the R53 and I live in Manhattan so we do barely drive.

Your choice looks great. Its pretty nice to see the mirrors black and roof black, it definitely makes a great break line. BRG is a strong second!

Astro Black is being replaced with Midnight Black (also a metallic color) starting with Week 50 builds.

Would that be a true black even-though it is a metallic? To tell you the truth I don't really know what is the different between metallic and non other than price change.
Thank you,

I briefly considered BRG, but it's not really a true BRG. The MINI BRG is metallic. Classic BRG should not be.

I apologize for setting such a confusing thread . So what does metallic imply in regards to color effect?

The classic BRG, like what you might find on old MGs and Jaguars and such was always a non-metallic. To me, it just doesn't look right when it's a metallic paint. My wife noticed that too when we saw a BRG at the dealer. If you are going to have a traditional color, make it traditional.

my $0.02

I think it might be kinda cool to offer a MINI in classic Gulf livery colors: sky blue with orange stripes, etc.

RaceTripper, that just wouldn't be fair! I'd have to get one and my wife wouldn't be real happy with me having two MINI's. That color scheme brings back some incredible memories. Thanks!

By the way, I vote for Pepper White.

Aston-Martin Racing is now running with that livery in the European Le Mans Series. Those DBR9s look very, very cool in the Gulf blue/orange (and they were racing in BRG previously).

RaceTripper,

This year was the first time in probably 12 years that I haven't watched Le Mans. I was actually on the road to Charlotte that weekend. I remember seeing the BRG paint scheme from two years ago. I love the new paint scheme. I brings back memories of Pedro Rodriquez.

We saw the BRG DBR9s racing at Petit Le Mans 2006. What was really cool was when we were at turn 10b, there was a group of A-M fans and every time Tomas Enge came around in the 007 he flashed his lights for the fans. Very cool. We miss A-M Racing in ALMS GT1. It just hasn't been the same since they left.

Hey guys:
Since I started this thread I thought I should update of course. Well I went ahead with the Astro Blue...oh sorry I mean the Astro Black.
I tried convincing myself about the BRG / Black roof but in the end I just thought the monochromatic feel of Astro Black was more of what I like really like.
So, the car should be at the dealer by the end of week? Will see.

I seriously concidered PW, but I can not stray from silver/grey cars. Just my thing! The BRG has a little more classic flair and PW is very neutral and hard not to like!
