F60 Brake design flaw

Incase anyone is interested. The Centric PosiQuiet 104.18750 fit the 2019 F60 JCW for front brake pads. However, it does not come with claw pad (sticky portion that sticks on to the pad and the rear side goes into the caliper pistons). So you need to order that separately.

However, on a separate note, I couldn't reset my service light.
Steps I took:
1. I turned on the car, not engine
2. Wait until service warning goes out
3. Hold trip reset button for about 7 seconds
4. Press trip reset button to cycle through service resets available
5. When on front brake, hold trip reset button
6. Confirmed reset, hold trip reset button
7. Status bar displays and goes to 100%
but the message display "Reset unsuccessful"

Any ideas? I did buy and installed a new brake pad sensor.

SOLVED
After some searching online an old bemmer trick worked. Jumper the sensor reader by putting a wire from one terminal to the other. Reset service successful. Attached brake sensor. All done.

My 2018 JCW front pads wore out at 16K and I do not drive the car that hard. I got the same BS from the dealer service mgr. I complained hard and got them to cover the labor. This is a real problem.

Bumping this thread back up as my 2019 S ALL4 told me I need to replace the front brake pads at 35k miles. While not as bad as some in this thread, it is still unacceptable to me. My GTI that is modified has over 100k on the stock brakes with plenty of life left. Going to pull the wheels and inspect it this weekend. If I see anything weird I will take it in for potential warranty work since my CM is CPO.

If I replace them myself, does anyone have any recommendations on pads?

Good grief! It’s a hybrid car! My Prius brake pads are at 50% after 8 years/150K miles! Hybrids are supposed to have extremely high brake pad life. What’s wrong with Mini’s design?

The S isn't a hybrid but still no excuse for short pad life. Did a quick look at ECS and will probably try the Akebono pads if I really need them.

Rotated my tires today and confirmed that the front and rear just touched the wear sensors at 35k miles. The car says they only have 1,000 miles left but there is plenty of life left still. The inner pads show more wear than the outer but not enough to worry about a stuck caliper.

Going to plan a front and rear pad change in the next month or so, most likely with Akebono and hope they last longer.

I agree Veritas137, I bought the Akebono pads, they look very good. well made. My part number is 'EUR 1892' for front ceramic disc brake pads 2017 countryman S, All4.
Akebono says they are made in USA.
So that's cool, When they got here I compared to a set of OEM Countryman Brake pads I have, so I know they will fit. Be careful with ordering from 'some places', even if they send you the wrong brake pads, they will want to charge you a restocking fee. Very annoying.
I have 20k miles , its close to 21K I believe, I had them off at 18K checking them , after hearing they wear fast. they were near halfway wore almost to that enter cut in the brake pads. They are wearing.
Oh, and it looks like the Akebono pads come with 'a' sensor ? Its a small wire with bare metal at the end, it go to a two prong connector at the other end. Made in spain, part number BS-1358.01
Good made wire and connector. There was only one in the box, that was interesting, was there supposed to have been two i wonder ?

I hope that helps, I will install this spring when it warms up. No indicator light on the countryman yet.

Does anyone know how to reset the oil change indicator on the Countryman ? That would be cool.

Thanks biscuit. Ordered ads for the front and rear from FCP Euro who has a lifetime warranty on parts and is super easy to deal with. They don't have our Mini listed but was able to find the parts via the number.

They do come with the sensors and only one sensor per axle is needed.
