Thanks!
I already have the grill and front/rear light trim sitting in my garage.
As soon as I pick up the car I'll be taking it to get XPEL on the whole front end. Then I can find someplace to do the stripes.
Does anyone know if the mirrors can be wrapped? Or are they too round? I'd rather wrap than paint if possible.

Wow, you are going to have one of the nicest Countrymans in all of Texas. Are you a part of your local Mini club? The one here in Austin is extremely active and our meets regularly get to 20 cars. I would assume Houston would be very active too.

Not sure... I used to be part of a pretty active group back in 2004-ish. Not sure if they are still very active or not. The website isn't active at all, but i know most groups have moved to FB now. The FB group looks like it only gets a few posts per day.

Well, after 3 hours at the dealership last night, I finally drove this home in the dark.
Just a few quickie pics on my way out the door this morning...

First question is about CarPlay. I notice the steering wheel controls (up arrow and down arrow) aren't able to change track in apple music?
Seems like the only way to skip forward or reverse is with the >> button on the center display.

Project Blackout has begun!

Today I had the two front side windows ceramic tinted to match the rear side windows which came tinted from the factory.
This weekend I start adding some glossy black bits.

If I might make a suggestion, remove the Countryman badging and just leave the Cooper S. It cleans the car up so much.

I agree, except I prefer to remove all badges. If I could remove the Mini badges I would, but unfortunately there are holes under them, so they stay but got the new blacked out badges.

Yes, I may do that when I'm ready to get striped.
But first the whole front of the car is getting paint protection film. Tentative appt set up for next Friday.

It's dirty, but the headlights, grill and tail lights are done!
And I only broke one clip on the stock chrome headlight trim.

Loving driving this every day. Wish my commute was more than just 7 miles on city streets.

Patiently waiting for Friday when I drop it off for the paint protection film, but meanwhile I've been looking for a cargo net for the boot.
I like to keep some of my mountain bike gear in the car since I tend to ride during my lunch hour. The problem is that there doesn't seem to be the ideal attachment points.
The rings that are low in the boot won't allow a standard net to lay flat on the floor. And not really seeing an upper attachment point to have the net sitting upright against the back seats or upfront near the hatch opening.
Am I missing something? Anyone else have a cargo net?

So for now I picked up these two little velcro nets from Amazon.
https://amzn.to/2y7EHEf
Just barely big enough to keep my helmet from rolling around, with smaller items in the other one.
And they won't interfere with putting the seats down if needed.

Picked up this VeePeak OBD2 reader/coder and the BimmerCode app. Love it. So easy to use, just plug it in, start the car and open the app.
Curious what are your fav changes you've done to your CM?

PPF complete! Well, almost. Has to go back in 2 weeks to be checked over and a few minor things trimmed.
XPEL Ultimate Plus on the whole front end.
Skipped the mirrors since I'll be covering those with vinyl anyway, so instead, I had them give me partial cover on the rear bumper to protect from loading/unloading the boot.
After the 2 week checkup, it will be fully cured and ready for stripes!

BTW, the shop said this was the hardest hood they've ever done. Took 4 guys to install that section.

Sweet looking F60 Dennis...my car is like the total opposite to your car in color. With 90 degrees heat wave around here as well as dust from all the construction work, and pollen- we are next to the woods, it would be super tough to keep a black on black car clean for sure.

Thanks!
And you just described Houston. Except it was 95 today and that's a cool front. Plus the 80% humidity.

I pulled the grille off and then pulled the chrome insert out and wrapped it myself using 3M vinyl CF wrap.

I don't even have plates yet and the car might be a goner.

Crazy crazy storm rolled through on my way home last night. Flash flooding everywhere. I got pinned in traffic in high water.
When traffic cleared in front of me I tried to move to get to higher ground and it stalled. Wouldn't start back up.
Meanwhile, other traffic is driving by me, creating wakes shaking my car around. It was insane. Finally, a good samaritan in a truck stopped and used straps to pull 3 of us to higher ground and I waited for my tow.

I'm hoping the engine isn't hydrolocked. Car is being towed from storage to the dealer later this morning.
Sitting in the parking lot waiting for the tow truck i tried starting it and nothing. Just a message on the dash saying SERVICE and something like ENGINE WON'T START.
Maybe it can be dried out, starter replaced, etc. Hoping for that. Really don't want it to be totaled.
No water inside or anything and when i lifted the hood the engine looked dry as a bone! That dang air intake is sooooo low in the bumper. That's what's scary.
