So the car is put back together... with the exception of the wheel hub and bearing. The shop has been waiting on them for 23 days now and getting the car back has probably been pushed back by another week or two. By this point I am guessing late June early July. This is killing me.

That is super annoying, I'm sure. Soon enough you'll be back behind the wheel.

The car is reassembled and is going through its paces this afternoon. I should be able to pick it up tomorrow morning.

Good new for you, glad to hear it. I rebuilt a clubman myself and it was over four months of wondering if I'd ever get that thing done. LOL

I bet you're stoked! And can't wait to give back that loaner.

The insurance was pretty pi34xd that the shop I used does not use aftermarket or remanufactured parts to which my response was, "that's why I chose them".

So the car is done and I am going to pick it up. Bad news is that there is a leak in the sunroof. I am taking is straight from the body shop to Mini of Austin. So I am expecting another week without the car.

Oh man that sucks!!! But I guess good that the body shop found it.
They think it has something to do with the accident?

They actually replaced the sunroof when they did the JCW conversion kit, so I am certain that is what it is. I only had the car 6 days when it was in the accident.

It just keeps getting worse, I am getting no audio from any source, the sensors or even the beep in the touch screen.

Having done some questioning of the body shop, the drainage tubes were never connected in the sunroof and water was going into the hatch. I am pretty sure the amp for the stereo is in there and fried. What kind of electrical damage am I looking at? Do I need to be concerned about calling a lawyer since the dealer had to replace that sunroof already?

I would give MINI a chance to sort it out before contacting any lawyers. Just make sure everything is documented.
If MINI starts giving you hassles, well then it will be time to look at your options.
Give them a chance to make it right first.

I dropped the car off on Tuesday for the sunroof repair... and nothing, not a word. I called back today and I have heard nothing back. If I hear nothing today, I am calling the general manager of the dealership and demanding answers. There are a lot more electronics in the boot than the HK amp, which is for sure blown and I want a full run down of what is wrong and what has been damaged. As we all know, when electronics suffer water damage, they can become a constant nightmare even after a repair.

Day 6: Still no word from the dealer about the water damage to my car. I have contacted a lemon law lawyer in California since the car was purchased there since my car is set to take a big hit in value. Once finished, I will likely be getting another CM ordered to the specs of my current car. This just keeps getting worse. I am pretty sure the headliner is ruined too looking at my CM loaner and where the water was going.

At this point I don't want the car anymore since it will likely turn into an electrical nightmare.

Ugh, real sorry to hear this.
Do keep us updated.

Have you tried stopping in to the dealer in person? I'd be down there raising hell in front of everyone. Probably wouldn't do anything but it would make me feel better. lol

I am going to play it cool here so as to let things stay in their court. I will let my lawyer handle it should he accept the case. This has just been crushing emotionally and I think it is going to get worse. I am not sure I want another Mini given the service I have received and I am locked in geographically to this dealer.

The nightmare is over, water damage was limited to amp which was replaced, the car is perfect and LOUD. My commute this morning was spirited to say the least. Consider this thread over.

Here is the awesome work Round Rock Collision did. The black trim makes it look like a brand new car.

Yeah, the body shop crushed it getting it fixed. It is better than the day I bought it.
