F60 Missing Countryman emblem?

Missing Countryman emblem?
Hi, I just bought my very first Mini today so please pardon what might be a silly newbie question. It's a used 2016 Countryman S AWD. I noticed that it doesn't have the emblem/badge that says "Countryman" across the rear tailgate that seems to be a standard feature on other Countryman models that I've seen. Is/was this a normal or common practice by Mini to exclude that or did the previous owner just have it removed or perhaps opt to exclude it when they originally bought it? I'm hoping it doesn't indicate that the car had bodywork done due to an accident or something. Although I bought it from a reputable Mini dealer as a CPO with a clean carfax so I don't think that's likely. Any light anyone can shed on this would be really appreciated. Thanks!

I believe it’s suppose to be there. It’s on our 2015 R60 and looking at F60’s it’s there too on the lower portion of the tailgate. They should have records on the car, especially if it’s CPO. I’d ask if it has had body work.
But, even if it had, that doesn’t mean it isn’t a good car. Our ‘15 CMS All4 is a CPO bought at a dealer with very low miles and it had fairly extensive front body work done due to a low speed impact from a stop sign (doesn’t take much to cause body damage!). We loved the car so we negotiated a good deal with extended warranty and so far it’s one of the best cars we’ve ever had....we love Countrymans!
Good luck!

This came up earlier...if my memory is right.
Older cars Pre 2014 (i think) it wasnt there.
After, it was an option or deletable item...so it isnt abnormal for it to not be there.
Im of the opinion its ugly, so yay for you!
Also to not, this is in the F60 section. I think this is an R60 thing.

As for the letters on the hatch...it looks perfectly fine! I'm picky about some things but the lettering looks just fine...very understated actually.
By the way, nothing wrong with an R60....F60's are totally different and great cars, but the R60 is smaller and looks better to some of us!
You can get into a slightly used 2016 Countryman for a ton less money also. I'm not here to bash F60's, just stating a fact if you really like the R60.
