Snow Mode! PICS!

Well - the season of Countryman domination is here. This is where these truly should shine.
If you've got your snow tires on now or any inspiring pictures from last year or this year - let's start a "Snow Mode" pic thread to celebrate winter beast mode!
These are my pics from 2017 - let's seem em!

Last year in Syracuse!
The snow tires did not help much that time!

I don't have any of my new F60, but here's one from last year of my R53. It didn't leave the driveway with this amount of snow that's for sure. Looking forward to being able to drive my MINI in all conditions this year.

We got around 9" in my part of Chicagoland. No pictures but the F60 did just fine with everything we threw at it.
The R52 sat happily in the garage...

Me too - I live in Uptown. Missed the snow as we had just left for St John, USVI. But now we're back!

Ah - I used to live in Uptown. I don't miss those side streets in the winter and all the snow emergency parking restrictions.

No one's posted in a few weeks, but I'm super-stoked to report amazing performance from my Countryman S E (yup, the electric hybrid) up here in Tahoe (CA). I was truly blown away by the performance of the 4-wheel control system. I put it to the test: in about 9 inches of snow and slush, on an uphill, by coming to a full stop. From there, I was able to accelerate (just a bit soft side of normal) and the system worked flawlessly.

Not sure how BMW got the computer to match the engine-driven front wheels and electric-driven back wheels to get torque right to all 4 wheels, but it sure worked. Basically a miracle as far as I'm concerned. And as far as handling goes, had some fun in a snowy parking lot trying to see what I could do to get it to slide/spin/etc. This is one vehicle that likes to track straight ahead in the snow, and recovers quickly from any inadvertent tail slide.

I think all the auto guides need to do snow tests on SUVs of all sizes -- the Countryman is sure to trounce just about all. Super happy with my decision to go with this vehicle for the snow. Hope others have experienced the same.,

Up here in the great white north had a good amount of snow over the weekend. It was super fun to drive the Countryman. It is heavy so the car would slide slightly if you change direction or stop suddenly but I felt like I was in control all the time.

Once I turned off the traction I could kick out the tail with ease and hold a drift for quite sometime. Spent about 1/4 tank of gas for controlled fun!!!

I love this car!!

If I have snow socks Do I need two or Four for and F60 AWD

Hi Mini Folks,

I live in the pacific northwest at around 1000ft and when we get snow it is generally thick, icy and wet.. Five or more inches is enough to require chains on my 4WD truck to get up my driveway (couple of steep-ish ups and downs) until we get it plowed and dug out some.

Generally I keep a single set of changes in my truck and a single set of cables in my 2012 R56 Cooper S but they are a pain to put on due to low fender clearance.

We just bought a 2023 F60 AWD Countryman.. I've been reading about tire-socks.. I'm going to buy a some as an insurance if we want to come home after a snow.

The question is can I just put a pair on the front or do I need to put them on all four tires (ick). Does anyone have real data from Mini on these, I know they occasionally sell the socks on sites but I can't find anything that talks directly to the AWD models and 2/4 use.

Any help is appreciated!

David

You have to put them on all four tires unless you want to view your forward progress through your rear window.

Yes, all four for 4wheel drive, what ever the drive wheels are thats what needs them. ISSE we have in stock.

If you are in areas that require chains only:

If your wheels are larger then the ones sizes we have set fitting you will need another brand that we dont carry thats for larger wheels

@Kowboycoop Did those driving lights come with the car or did you have them added on?
