Lock confirmation beep too loud

Is there an easy way to lower the volume of the confirmation beep you get when locking or unlocking the Countryman? Or removing the sound entirely? I can't find a command in Vehicle Settings. I'm fine with just the lights flashing. The beep is ridiculously loud. Thanks!

It is easy. Go to settings, doors and keys. Uncheck acoustic signal. I had to turn off after software update at the dealer two weeks ago.

Ther era is no sound level in the menu but maybe you could code that.

Thanks so much, everyone. I found the command. I hadn't scrolled far enough down on the Settings. Thanks for the help.

It's obnoxiously loud. I turned it off but my wife likes the beep for some reason. I tried to code it to a lower level but it didn't work.

It is loud and i think louder than on a BMW that has the same horn in a similar location. Maybe it could be the difference in the wheel well liner material? Or the thickness of the steel body panel? Perhaps removing the wheel arch and applying some sort of acoustical material or some type of noise isolating foam in the area may deaden the sound of the horn. Or wrapping the horn in some sort of material.

Just a thought I had. I have an X1 and the sound of the chirp is definitely louder than on my old MINI.

Well - you want it to be loud if someone breaks into the car. If it were my car that I drove daily I'd just turn off the confirmation beep.

Bringing back an old thread, so where is the speaker located exactly?

On my old car, I was able to wrap some foam around the speaker so it deadened the chirp just enough to not make it so annoying, I'm sure it could be done again on the my CM. Just don't know where the darn speaker is located.

Can someone post a pic of where you turn the alarm on in the settings? I have gone into my settings and thought I turned it on but when I lock the doors it still does not chime/beep. I like having the feature on so that I know the alarm is armed and so that I don't have to listen for my doors to lock. It's also nice when you have to locate your vehicle in a parking lot.

Also, I read that you could active your alarm by holding the back gate open button for an extended period of time but that doesn't seem to work either.
