Just Got a Countryman!

Hello all! I just got an Island Blue Countryman S. My wife and I started looking for a car to replace my GTI when she got pregnant. She had originally hated Minis, but then she sat in one and loved it. We unfortunately lost our pregnancy, but we decided to take delivery of the car anyway even with all of the heartache we have been going through.

On to the car. We got it in Island Blue with the white roof and the Chesterfield Oak interior. I can’t remember all of the options, but the car MSRP’s for $42k (no markup) and we ended up getting it for $35k. We both absolutely love the car, but I sense either the JCW tuning pack or a Remus exhaust with a Dinan tune coming. I also am going to get the white 19” wheels from the parts department along with the rally lights. Stay tuned for updates.

We are getting through it and it hasn’t been easy, but this has been a nice distraction.

The Countryman is a good handling vehicle. I was at the MOTD a couple of weeks ago and saw several that were lowered and engine modified.

I apologize for the late response as I had really bad food poisoning. I have posted a few pics of the car as well as the wheels I am thinking of going with as my summer wheels.

Nice! Those are the wheels I'd like to go with as well.. just the darker ones. Let us know what size you end up fitting!

Your CMS looks great! I can empathize about the food poisoning as I had it 2 weeks ago....really sucks as it comes out of nowhere and all you can do is think about what you ate! Ugh!

My wife & I have been looking at Countryman’s to replace our Jeep as her car and I’ve been learning about these cars. We like the R60 due to the size and color options but I hesitate about the N18 engine in the long run! So now we are beginning to focus on the F60 for her....then we will have two MINIs as I have a ‘15 JCW Hatch.

I’d like to see those wheels on your CM before passing judgement...might look pretty cool if set up right.

Good luck!

It was a piece of Brie cheese on my Air France flight back from Prague. Got a test back that said dairy, I didn’t know they could be that precise.

My wife and I are being relocated to Austin next year because the sales team I manage is out there.i am going to go with the 19’s on Michelin Pilot Sport 4S’ for my summer wheels and keep the stock wheels for winter wheels. Gonna get the JCW tuning package too as well as driving lights. I need to wait though to move as we can buy a house outright and I will be cash flush.

On another note, my car is running rough in any weather above 80 degrees, it pulsates on power. I am going to call the dealer as I suspect a misfire.

That is one interestingly-shaped garage.

Looks like you'll be spending a lot of time keeping white wheels white.

Conga-rats on the CMSA4!

I have the same seats. They look great and are very comfy.

Enjoy the ride. Cheers!

How much are those rims? I have the all black version. I’m not a huge fan. But I love the white ones! Pricey? Your car is the twin of mine other than the seat color and the rims! That blue is soooo great!

Looks great! Do you have mud flaps on it? I think I noticed some on the front wheels, what about the back ones?

I'm trying to get a set for mine but somehow a dealer is telling me I can only get front ones rear ones don't fit. Is that true anyone heard of this?

What part numbers for the mud flaps if anyone knows? I have the countryman SE hybrid.

Ugh, if I had the black wheels that your car came with, I would be content. The white OZs are $249(?) each on Tirerack.

Love the color btw.

It's a wide tandem! Tons of storage space and a lot of room for our two cars too.

Why yes I do! I had to go to the garage to check, how did I not know that?

hahha. So funny. EVERYONE loves the black rims other than me. I’d prefer the silver even to the black. Apparently I’m in the minority.

And this is the ONLY color. Hahah. Although I saw a guy who called his Loki. In that forest green with black stripes. But the island Blue Still rules all.

I got the silver rims. My car came with the black rims but I traded them with the dealer for silver ones. I don't like black on black, too much black I rather color contrast. The car looks much better with silver rims to match the silver door handles and the trim piece on the bottom of the doors.

Hey, if you are in California, I am happy to trade my silver ones for your black ones. They only have 6k miles on them and other than needing brake dust cleaned off of them, they are immaculate.

Personally, I usually go for silver wheels as well......some black wheels look awesome on the right car with the right colors. But, a great designed silver wheel (not chrome...no way!) can really MAKE a car! Our recently purchased 2015 Countryman S All4 in Light Coffee came with those standard silver 17" wheels with runflats. Almost immediately after pulling into our garage after getting Heidi home after the purchase those wheels & tires came off (although in excellent condition).....and the Michelin Pilot A/S 3+ non-runflat 225/45/18's went on the new 18" Silver Turbo Fan MINI wheels and the look of the car was absolutely transformed! I love the look so much better!

And, fwiw, the Turbo Fan Wheels (by MINI) on the R60 look better than the "similar/but not the same" silver wheels on the F60....not even close! The Turbo Fan wheels in matte black also look very very nice, but on the right color car.
