Countryman Cooper SE reversing lights

Can anyone please tell me how many reversing lights my Countryman Cooper SE should have illuminated on reversing (GR model)? Only the left one lights up white. There is a similar lens on the right side with a bulb clearly in it - this one does not illuminate!
Is that normal?

I believe what your looking for is in this manual .. and you need to look at page 179.

https://www.miniusa.com/content/dam/...ner_manual.pdf

It shows there are two lights, one of each side, and the manual will show you how to change them out. I did this on my Countryman and it's not hard. Just be careful when taking the light bracket out so you don't screw it up. They seem sort of flimsy to me.

Indeed there are lamps in both tail-lights. They both light up as rear fog lights. But only the left one lights up white when engaging reverse.
What I’m looking for is whether this is normal or I have a bad lamp on the right side!

After some better checking, the bulbs in the lower clear window of each tail-light are looking completely different. Only The left one lights up white for reversing while only the right one lights up red for rear fog light. I suppose that’s the way it is designed.

I just had a co-worker check mine and both backup lights should illuminate while reversing. Ya may have a bad bulb.

That’s weird, I suppose it should give an error. Or maybe it’s different country wise.
Do you have the led headlights and fog lights?

Europe spec cars (at least in Greece and U.K.) have only one taillight illuminate during reverse. Problem solved.

Sorry didn't see this till now.
Not sure why no-one responded - easy question... both should light up. You should have 2 reverse lights.
But if you're in EU then different spec to NA.

OP, if you have the rear foglight option, then one of your reverse lights is replaced with the rear foglight. If you DON'T have the rear foglight option, then you should have two reverse lights.

The right side is designed to be a Fog Light as in Europe. Only the left is the Reversing light. If it is required by law in your country that both the sides need to light up, you need to get it coded as such by your dealer (or) your dealer can offer you a letter stating of such fact and seeking exemptions on the basis of manufacture/design.

In the U.S., there is no requirement that a vehicle have two reversing lights. What is required is that all factory installed lights are operational. That does not include aftermarket lighting such as LED light bars, off-road high-intensity lamps, rally lights, etc.
