Please advice 2017 (F60) Countryman Wiper Blade Replacement

Hi! Can anyone advise what aftermarket brand (Rain X, Michelin or Trico) can be used as replacement? I tried Bosch Clear Advantage, and the adapters do not fit into the arm.

so instead of getting the OEM from Mini, any suggestion?

thanks much!

I know I'm not answering your question for a non-OEM brand but I bought the 3 piece OEM wiper replacement from ebay for $62 with free shipping. It's sold from a MINI dealer's ebay store. I felt it was fair price compared to buying from my local dealer, they wanted something like $90 for the set.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/3-pc-OEM-Mi...pagcNX&vxp=mtr

Hopefully others can help with your question.

Thanks "TheJuice"! I saw that too, but needed a replacement ASAP. Also wanted to know for future reference, as car wiper blade should be easily picked up from auto part store, instead of OEM all the time :)

Let's see what others suggest.

Usually the dealer replaces them under maintenance by doing the rubber blade part only. MINI wiper replacements can be frustrating, especially at local auto parts stores. They always say sure we have what you need and then waste 15 minutes before they give up and realize they don't have it. Still can't get 2011 Countryman blades at my local store.

I think those are unique to the Countryman so for fast service - dealer.

Does anyone know what arm type is it since this is a new type? Thanks

AnOldBiker 03-17-2018 10:09 AM

I'd like in on this one since I'll need them in the future and my dealer is 95 miles from me.

O'Reilly Auto repeats much of the below and lists several Bosch models, but the manufacturer website doesn't show any as "compatible" so YMMV... (I think they're still showing 2011-2016 Countryman wipers for Bosch)

Michelin only lists wiper blades for the new Clubman, not the new Countryman, so try theirs at your own risk.

RainX says:
Rain‑X® Latitude® Water Repellency
Blade Location Length (in.) Arm Type
Driver 22" Narrow PTB
Passenger 21" Narrow PTB

Trico apparently has A TON:

If MINI maintenance plan is like the old days, if you change the wiper head to non-MINI, they will not replace the blades anymore.

18cmjcw 04-09-2018 09:14 PM

I heard the same, too... no longer replacing blades if an owner has installed a non-Mini blade... overheard an MA telling this to someone while having my car checked in for 9000mi oil change.

chipfiev 04-10-2018 07:15 AM

I have yet to find a non-OEM replacement for the F60. I gave up and ordered blades from the dealer.

TheJuice 07-31-2018 06:52 AM

I'm curious if anyone has tried any 3rd party wiper blades. I believe the Mini OEM driver side are 23" but the 3rd party all show 22"

Thanks

Haven't bought blades from them yet, but it seems RockAuto has some good prices on Trico blades.

I had my F60 in for service last week. MINI no longer replaces wiper blades under the maintenance program. :(
I tried buying the Rain-X latitude as that was identified as compatible, but it does not fit. Our wiper arm in not a narrow PTB.

Unless anyone has an update, I guess dealer parts department it is.

Went on the hunt for replacement wiper blades myself and it seems most places list the 2017 countryman but not the 2018. I have a 2017 countryman and tried the trico and the bosch and neither contain the new end button arm adapter. You can see the correct adapter and get the OEM blades from mini mania but seems that anything other than OEM, for the time being, is out for now. https://new.minimania.com/MINI_Coope...des#End_Button I did email trico today before I send them back to see if they have an adapter they could send me and will post back if so. My dealer still replaces them under the maintenance but only once per year vs every 6 months but it's an hour drive each way and I don't really feel like sitting there for several hours just to change my wipers.

Trico Ultra ?

Ugh. you are correct 'Wildone3c', Trico Ultra does not fit. great.
well, I guess its what I get for trying to go cheap. Horses ass ! Heck, I would not have been able to remove the old blade if it wasn't for the small diagram on Mini-Mania page. Next time I order something from them,I'll throw in a set of wipers.
Oh well.
Have a good one,

For non-OEM, I really like PIAA wiper blades. They last a long time too. I am not sure if there are blades listed for the MINI countryman F60, but they should be the same as the BMW X1 blades. Somebody correct me if I am wrong. I haven't had my F60 long enough to need new wiper blades yet.

I always bought the cheap Bosch wiper blade because the black metal matches the wiper arms pretty well and look much better than the faded plastic OEM,sBosch Wiper Blade Super Plus/ME3 Single

wiper blades

Well my friends at Mini Mania sent me a set of wiper blades. OEM set. They fit perfectly. I tried those Trico Ultra's . I'm glad they didn't work. It would have looked like I had 'tumors' on the wiper blade where it connects to the wiper arm.
have a good one,

Wow so I had my countryman in to get wipers on Friday and got a call today saying that MINI USA no longer replaces them under the maintenance program and that I had a balance. Apparently they stopped replacing the brakes as well back in late 2016... They quoted me $109 for all 3 blades (Minus labor) but thankfully my MA stepped in and covered it since I had no idea. I about flipped out since I've had 7 MINI's since 2004 and ALL have been covered for both. Unfortunately since there are no aftermarket wipers that work with the end button style arm, looks like the only option to replace for now is OEM (or places like MINI Mania for oem).

Insult to injury, some debris came off an 18 wheeler on my way to the dealership and cracked my windshield in 2 places and 2 local glass shops can't even order the windshields yet. Hopefully safelite will give me better news tomorrow but it seems like there are some supply issues with the new countryman.

Wow, that is killer about the windshield, The dealer can't get a windshield for you ? seems like they would send a shipping container full of replacement windshields from the Mini factory to the main Mini parts distribution center here in the U.S. for such replacement occasions ? ( and wiper blades ) LOL.
Besides, would safelite get a genuine Pilkington Mini windshield ? If they replace mine, by ___ there better be a genuine Mini emblem in the corner, This is where I start complaining about insurance companies. But I am not going to today, because its October first, and I don't want to start swearing on the first day of the month:wink:

It must be possible to replace all the wiper arms with arms that accept 'normal' blades, OR an end button adapter to 'normal' fitting.

redryder4 10-23-2018 08:49 AM

I ordered 2 different blades from Rock Auto that were listed for my 2017 CM, expecting the worse but hoping for the best.. Neither fit. Now they want to split return shipping costs with me since it wasn't their fault. I disputed their "not at fault" claim and they said they'd check with the manufacturer (Trico?) for answers. Rock Auto's customer service/return policy certainly not on par with Amazon's..

Side note: The original wipers seem to still be in good condition, but the wife is complaining they "chatter" on the newly replaced windshield..

I refuse to pay stupid amounts of $$ for a strip of rubber mounted to plastic.

I just want to comment that I am horrified that anyone spends big money on wiper blades from MINI !
Just measure your blade(s) & go get a standard/generic blade of your choice from the local parts store. You'll have a hard time spending $15!
Then a few minutes tinkering on the kitchen table with a pair of pliers will have the old rubber blade slid out & the new one in.
Not hard to do..............
