Question Lowering Springs

Anybody have lowering springs for the F60 yet? Really would like to lower it and get better handling. My F60 does have Dynamic Damper Control too so needs to be compatible...

RECOMMENDATIONS??

I'm not sure you're going to improve the handling a ton with a mild drop. I also think you may ruin the ride if you'd only doing springs which I'm sure you would in order to preserve the dynamic dampers. Your spring to damper rate will be WAY off with any kind of stiffer spring, especially if doing an aggressive lowering. I'd suggest instead look at a rear sway and perhaps solid end links if they make em for these... better tires can go a long way also (the oe's are garbage IMO). I actually think it rides pretty good in sport mode.

I'm all about lowering and improved handling but this just doesn't seem like the right vehicle for that if you ask me.

To answer your question - I haven't seen springs for it anywhere.

I am not too worried about a stiffer ride. My last MINI (Cooper 4 door hardtop) was lowered with NM lowering springs and it felt like a MINI should. It handled sooo much better too and looked so much better! MINIs should be that way from the get go since they are known for Go Cart Handling! So I am not too worried about "ruining the ride". LOL My goal is to make the car look better and get rid of some wheel gap, improve the handling slightly, and to have a stiffer ride. The F60 is a big vehicle so any drop I can imagine would improve it. I just have been unsuccessful trying to find any kind of aftermarket springs...

H&R has them for the f60 now. Supposed to give a 1.2” drop front & rear.

KW has coilover kits that come with EDC deactivation modules, if you want to go that route. It's surprising they don't have a plug and play DDC kit yet, maybe with the new X2 M35i that'll encourage them to produce one.

Did a quick video of my F60 after the H&R lowering spring install. Already a 1.5” drop and I think it still will settle a bit more. Looks great but now it may need some bigger wheels and/or some spacers to get it looking just right. Heres the link.

. Putting together an install video that will be up later this week.

Thanks for the Video the car looks good. Here are some pics of a F60 that B and B from Germany spruced up a little with 20" wheels. By any chances can you please post the product/model number of the H@ Springs. Thank you.

That's a good looking F60. I'd like to get the wheel and tire specs on it. I'll do some research. The model number for the H&R Lowering springs is 28790-1. I picked them up from Tirerack although ECS has the available as well. https://www.tirerack.com/suspension/...=Cooper+S+ALL4

Here's a 30 minute video of the install. I'm no videographer but you'll get the idea!

Looks good. The F60 has so much lift to it when you do lower you still have some wheel gap. Lower profile/larger wheels and spacers will help that.

That's gonna take some math to figure out. All that offset & backspacing stuff is critical to figuring out all the spacer & tire/wheel size issues when going to 20" wheels.

Looks like 225/35-20’s on the 20 inch rims. The 19” JCW rims have a 47mm offset which I assume fit without a spacer. I would think a 20” rim would need a 52mm offset. Just guessing tho.

Did they settle any more from the first pictures you posted? If so, do you happen to have a new picture you can post? TIA

Now all you have to do is push those baby's out a touch. Spacers.
I have been racking my brains on getting taller tires to fill out my new 19 CMS but you've inspired me to just lower it! I just ordered the H&R's, I did also purchase new wheels that I'll be swapping out the P7's with, with a et40. I was looking for another tire also (softer) but to be honest the P7's aren't that bad. I'll post up soon.

So how much of the ride was lost from stock springs to H&R's

Just a head up we have one system on sale for coilovers on the F60/F54

https://www.ecstuning.com/b-kw-suspe...rs/180200bnkt/ limited quantities 30% off. and for DDC you will need these. https://www.ecstuning.com/b-kw-suspe...e/68510477~kw/ Some people have told us that they just disconnected the DDC system and never got an error.

Just an option if you want more then springs

Were you able to retain factory alignment specs without any camber plates or anything with these lowering springs?

I called H&R and they said the ones they make are only for the F60 All4. there is too much conflicting information online, I called Mini Mania and they say they have them I just do not spend the Money and they won't work.

Can anyone clarify this for me?

Thanks in advance!

Nice looking Countryman. We just bought a 2019 Countryman S. We are planning on lowering it as well. Thank you for posting the videos. I noticed your caliper covers. Could you tell me where you bought them? I went up to the MGP site and the MINI only goes to 2015 when I do a vehicle search. Thank you for your help. Have a blessed day!
