Weird. L=/=R

Anyone notice this weirdness? Compare left and right areas adjacent to fog-lights. What were they thinking? How did I not notice this before? Are they all like this?

It's very common in many forced induction vehicles. That radiator sits on one side so there is venting on that side. Same with my Audi and many others...

From a hole like that, a flying(?) tree brunch penetrated both my a/c and engine radiators of my Mazda mx-5! It was a windy and very expensive day!

Its a supplemental coolant radiator. So yeah. A rock through there would be bad

It could easily happen, too. It's vulnerable!

Does the X1 have this so exposed too?

First saw this on the F56 JCW now its on the SE. Both are on the same side.
