F60 F60 Hybrid - Production Number and Build Date Assigned

I don't see the SE ever bridging the ~150 mile range gap that comes from the nearly 6.5 gallon larger fuel tank unless you're hypermiling or maximizing short range electric-only runs. Besides, MINIs aren't really meant to be babied like that.
Also remember that a tax credit only works if you owe Uncle Sam money on your tax return and you don't get any more tax credit than what you owe.

While it is true the tax credit will depend on your individual situation for purchases, on a lease, it's a $4000 upfront credit.

I was told by my CPA that I was eligible for the full $4000 credit. I treat it like a discount in addition to others from the dealership and the BMW program. That is why I switched from All4 S to SE at the last minute
My wife will drive it to her office ( 2 miles ) every day and there are charging stations available inside the company

I did a search online for the BMW corporate group program you mentioned and I only saw $1500 savings applying to leases. Care to elaborate on what you are finding?
I'm buying outright and also just received confirmation of being eligible for the $4k rebate by my CPA. An additional $1.5k in savings would be awesome! I could purchase as a company vehicle if it deems advantageous.

Unfortunately, I have a 30 mile daily commute and I live in a townhouse without a garage or driveway, so unless I can get Dominion Energy to install a charging station next to my parking space, I can only charge at work if they ever activate their ChargePoint stations.

Using the 'My Plug-in Hybrid Calculator' on the fueleconomy.gov website (simple driving form), I compared my short 15 mile commute to my wife's 40 mile commute (~7,000 total miles per year). It's estimating 6 fill ups per year for myself versus 21 fill ups a year for her. That goes to show the car does lend itself to a particular driver. My total cost of combined fuel was $170 less over the year versus hers due to my dependence on the electricity.
Obviously those numbers are probably nowhere near real world numbers, but it's interesting to play with.

Got to see one at my local dealer this week. They weren't allowing drives since it was a pre-production unit, but I got to sit in it and ask the MINI corporate employee driving it some questions.
Couple things I didn't know:
- back seats sit an inch higher. I'm 6'0" and if I was much taller or had floofier hair, I'd be skimming the headliner...
- Cargo area is the same except under the flat load floor. You get about half the space due to the motor. Still enough room for jumper cables, first aid kit, but definitely not fitting much under there.
- Driving range is rated at 12 miles on all electric, but he said he's stretched it to about 18 miles. Depends on conditions and driving style.

The HUD unit will be improved on the July build

Same SE demo here in CT
Test drove the SE on June 29th and placed my order for one fully loaded on July 6th. Not sure how long of a wait until a slot opens up at dealership in order to get a VIN yet. Very impressed with smooth transitions and quality of upgrades to interior.

OK, maybe I (and possibly even Merek) took a response out of context since he's speaking with Klaus Mehrlich, MINI Countryman Product Manager.
Video transcript at the 8:24 mark:
Video transcript at the 8:24 mark:
Merek: And last but not least, when will we see an electric MINI?
Klaus: That's something announced for 2019.
Merek: OK, looking forward to it. Thank you very much.
Klaus: You're welcome.
Merek: I like the hybrid MINI but I can't wait to see the fully electric version, which will hit the showrooms in 2019.

Rodney,
Normally once the order is in the system for a few days they should get a production number to give you. They are only building 418 for the US market this year and I don't know if their strategy is to knock them all off early spread out. Your order will get re-slotted ahead of orders that are for stock etc. (Priority 1). That also gets it on a ship quicker and through the port distribution and delivery process at the front of the line.
My last 3 I have ordered have all been almost 8 weeks to the day from order to car delivered to the dealer.

BMW is in full development of a newer longer range elcetric vehicle platforms. The new E-Mini will be I am sure a derivative of those new drive trains. It is interesting that they launched the X1 hybrid only in China. It is essentially the identical system that is in the SE except the range etc is much improved do to newer Li battery packs not tested to US/EU standards.
