Adding a mains (120V) inverter - capacity at 12V? Options for HVDC??
Has anyone added an inverter to their countryman to power tools? Camping gear?
Is there a wiring diagram anywhere? Specs on 12V DCDC? (For reference, my Fiat 500e has 1500 watts of capacity in the onboard DCDC converter, so while the HVDC contactor is closed on the main traction battery pack, I could comfortably pull 1000 watts from an inverter on the 12 V side...) Is there an equivalent DCDC in the mini or is the 12V battery charged by a boring old alternator only? Has anyone used the big battery to power anything but the traction motor? |
Did a bit more digging on this and still can't see what the current output of the onboard DCDC converter is.
the TIS has a lot of details but not that number. It even shows how to measure the DC output... Anyone know? Anyone got an inverter package to tear down? Should I just use max fuse ratings as a guide? |
12V socket in the trunk does not have that much power, its good for small electrical air pumps and stuff. My guess is it about 200W

The capacity of the DCDC converter in the EV electronics package is what I'm after. It's specified for my fiat, EV, but not the mini hybrid. It'll be an internal engineering specification somewhere in BMW probably.... |

Cigarette lighter style are usually fused at 10 A, and even that's ambitious.

Screenshot shows seats being heated and fans blowing, lights on, loads of stuff doing things. Neat. https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.nor...03b26d613d.png |
