They are excellent.
Anyhow, they replaced them under warranty! I didn't expect that since I thought pads were no longer covered, so I didn't mention my concern. $0 was okay with me.
Now I expect the back brakes will probably need to be replaced in a few thousand miles. They look okay now.
We all agreed that 8300 miles was ridiculously low.

Don't tell me Mini is doing what HP does with their inkjets!

Glad you got your pads replaced under warranty.

The BMW pads are designed with the Mini service department in mind; there are plenty of other options out there with equivalent/better performance that won't have you changing them at ridiculous intervals as well as having to clean your wheels so often.

As soon as my pads wear down again and are no longer under warranty, I'll swap in the carbon/ceramic pads I have sitting on my shelf. I had planned to install those if Mini service was going to charge me a ridiculous price for replacement.

By the way, your signature shows a 2018 JCW. How have your front pads held up?

My front sensor came on at 15,000 miles. I have the Maint plus warranty (cost $600), covers brakes, wipers, serpentine belts, clutch until 36,000miles. I had Mini dealer replace under warranty. The regular price (without warranty was $386). If you have under 36,000 you can still add the warranty....have to do the math and see if it's worth it. I do not have the experience or confidence to change the brake pads myself.
