Fake F57?
First . . . I'm a new guy so please excuse my ignorance.
I recently purchased a 2016 F57. It has JCW seats, steering wheel, shift knob, wheels and body kit. It's chili red with the black racing stripes. Basically everything except the brakes and badges. Is this still a JCW F57? thanks in advance |
Two things: As stated innumerable times herein, "Without pictures, it didn't happen". And, have you run the VIN? That will tell you what you want to know.
|
My understanding is you could order the Cooper S with JCW appearance packages, inside and outside. If it does not have the brakes and badges, sounds like an S with those packages.

Welp, going to have to get the brakes and badges then. Thanks |

That has the JCW packages, but no, it's not a JCW.

That sounds like what it is.
Welp, going to have to get the brakes and badges then. Thanks -sincerely, someone who has an actual JCW EDIT: also note, those are not the JCW seats. yes the cloth pattern is the same, but the seat itself is different. |

Do not fake badge a car as a JCW. The engine itself is different in a JCW as well as suspension, exhaust, and I believe transmission as well even. slapping badges on it would be like slapping M3 badges on a 328 with an M3 body kit.

+1 JCW appearance packages or someone added on those at the dealership. I like the JCW packages as the car looks better. You could later down the road and get the brake kit, its a huge improvement. Then get a Dinan or Burger tuner. It will be faster and then you have the brakes for stopping. One happy F57 S :)

Going to start with coil overs and brake kit over the winter. |
That's a fine looking MINI...except...what's that big black canvas thingie? Don't you know that topless motoring IS motoring at it's best? It's an ancient tradition.
