Opening up hood scoop

So as we all know our hood scoops are blocked off and not functional like previous model.

Has anyone tossed around the idea of the very tedious task of opening up all of the little honeycomb sections to provide more cool air directly to the engine?

Or is just a stupid idea

For anything to get through that opening would require cutting the metal of the hood too. It's not like the R56 where it was just a plastic cover over an actual hole in the hood. When I had my hood scoop painted I noticed there was only the tiniest opening in the hood itself. In the early days of the F cars I had held out hope that AEM would develop a RAM/CAI for the F series like they had for the R series, but the engine layout does not lend itself to the design + lack of useable scoop.

The scoop on my R56 didn't let any airflow through either. Fake news.

on some of the R56 the scoop was open, you still can use the R56 challenge part, however it was pulling air out !
