fwiw the default setup for years for the DS FRS-BRZ cars is a 17x7 with 225-45-17 RE71R/BFGRS, and I've heard rumors of people trying 245's (on 16's I think?). Every tire will act a little different and methinks it's been a few years since you last tried that experiment, the tire landscape has changed. No doubt it's a bit pinched and may be a bit slower on turn in than a 215, but the width may be worth it for ultimate grip.
DS is a super interesting class in theory, 4-cylinder Camaro/Mustang, new WRX, FRS/BRZ, and now a JCW Mini, but most regions don't pull enough participants to see the full variety of what's on offer (E36, ATS, Genesis, etc)

Got to say I'm with Charlie on the question of tire size, but will admit that my comment is based on a sample of one and a R comp tire at that. I have 225-45x17 R888s on 7" wheels and, maybe it is a combination of the grippy tire without sufficient camber, but on the track these are no faster than my 205-50x15 RE71Rs. The 225s are definitely feeling the pinch.
One the other hand, maybe a 200 wear rated street tire will tolerate being pinched better than the R comp did. However it is an expensive try if it doesn't work, though.
Then there is the question of gearing. The solo courses around me tend to be short and the taller tire size is a hindrance.

Gearing will be region dependent, there are groups out here that put together ~60mph slaloms and the extra legs in 2nd can pay off.
It's nitpicking at this stage, getting the right compound on there and feeling it out is just the beginning of the process, a size up or down is hunting for those final tenths of a second along with fine tuning the rest of the setup. Driver confidence is king when the fastest car in unsteady hands can cone away any chance at a good performance.
