'17 JCW: Fun Under the Sun!

Been holding out on putting these up for a while but figured I'd show how far along the car has made it. Have got some great advise/ research/ ideas from these forums over the past 9 months of ownership... Looking forward to keeping it classy and moving forward with the build.

Very nice looking car, and with no stripes too. What did you use to black out the front grill surround the belt line chrome trim?

It did take a while to make up my mind on going w/ or w/o the classic striping but I decided against it, thought it gave the car a little bit more length making it a bit less stubby in appearance... As for the chrome trim, simply had that done away with at a local shop, they used a gloss 3M wrap (pretty durable and flush)

The three driving modes are all dutifully representative of what they are supposed to entail. With the addition of Bilstein coilovers and an underchasis Cravenspeed brace kit, Id say the car is very easy to push to 10/10ths... Would eventually like to get a wider contact patch w/ some new wheels. The engine in the car is more than adequate I feel but like many 4 cylinders there is not much room to breath up top. I'd like to get a proper tune on it and see what difference that might make

I'm quite a ways north of you in the Coconut Creek area, within 10 min of Boca... I remember back in my Volkswagen days there would always be gtg's at Tropical Park, haven't been down south in a while though

Most of the Gen1 crowd think the Gen3s are too long, hate to think what the Gen3s think of our cars.

The MINI club up there is Gold Coast MINIs - once in a while, we'll do events together with them.

Awesome!
Have you considered Tinted side reflector film? (Got mine from OutMotoring)
Especially for the orange front ones. It darkens it but still allows light thru.

Love that color combo. I just bought one that I pick up in 2 days. Coming from a 3 pot Justa the lack of high revs should feel about the same. The deal was too good to pass up, but I'll have to live with side graphics.
