Generally the clubs/organizations that run events in the NE allow the Quickfit but it is at the option of the instructor (if you have one). Some instructors won't wear one if there is no roll bar. If I have an instructor that doesn't want to use them, I just put in the CGLocks.
What group do you have a tech form from?
Also I think you meant "black flag" (come in from the track); Yellow is a caution flag.

i was using "yellow flag" in more of a tech inspection, where they'll tell me that i cant' get on unless i resolve this issue (having harnesses, etc...)

So I tackled this bolt..while you're diagram is correct, the bolt doesn't go all the way back in...the harness hole is the same size as the end of the bolt. I'll take a picture.

never the less, it's threaded enough that it's f*cking tight. i'll be testing it tomorrow here @ VIR

as for lack of point by's, i would blame flaggers more than the drivers. it's a flaggers job to flag a driver for a "faster" car behind him. generally speaking, i would understand why a porsche wouldnt' want to let me pass...but i didnt' seem to have a problem. great attitude and the FSRPCA group took it all pretty seriously. they seem to be more strict than RTR and Schattenbaum...like:
- long sleeve vs short sleeve
- MUST attend class or you don't get on the track
- 2 wheels off must come in to be checked and discuss that
- off track twice and you're kicked out for the weekend.
overall i had a great time...put a few vids up on my youtube channel...here's one chasing my buddy in his E90M3.

Interesting subject.
i choose the MINI as the perfect possibility to use it as daily car, with the fun factor numero uno, 120 Km daily use of a free highway. Besides that i do some trackdays at the Nordschleife track.
To use more power for short track fun you need a LSD, wider wheel & tires, and a true suspension. The JCW brake pimped with rotors & pads works fine.

Every track around here uses those same rules every time I've been to vir it's been the same rules
VIR uses paid permanent flaggers, I've only seen them throw out the blue flag where it was really really bad
I'm jealous of your HP, you pick up speed so much faster out of the corners. What tires did you run?

Marcopolo are you happy with the mini on the track compared to your e36 M3? I've been contemplating a switch back to another m3 either an e46 or e36 vs sinking money into the R53's engine. I have considered another R56S too, it's cheaper to get power out of those and they can fit more tire, probably a better platform for track use.

i'm running Toyo R888R's...start off about 30 cold all around get around 39/40 front hot and 36/36 rear hot...probably want to start around 28/29 next time.
i'd say between the tires and the CT pads i'm able to stop pretty damn hard. if you see my run on the back straight, i'm hitting about 125-130 and stopping at the "3" Marker and i bring it down to 70 pretty quickly.
i just uploaded a full session this morning if anyone cares to watch. it's 28 minutes long...

this was my post i am taking the mini to the track for the first time and wanted to get some ideas on setup.
ill be running my street tires for now, Michelin pilot super sports. I will def take the pressure down to 28 cold and start there. I usually run r comps of some kind on my e30. I have some ebc yellows stuff for pads. not sure if i will like them, but roebling road is pretty easy on brakes compared to VIR\Road atlanta
Will be doing a brake flush this weekend ATE 200 (replacement for the blue)
i have the schroth harness on order also

From what I have seen, the Pilot Sports do a very creditable job out on the track. My guess is you will be quite happy with them. What I have found is that when the hot tire pressure gets above 39psi they get sloppy. I target for 38 in the front and 37 in the rear when hot; this worked for my cousin's M2 with the Pilot Sports. I know some people run tire pressure higher than that, but I am just providing another experience.
The brake pads - Meh - run some longer brake zones at first to see what their characteristics are. As I noted before, my experience was that these tended to build in bite has they heat up during use. Again, some people like these pad. It will be interesting to hear about your experience.
I also hear that Roebling is a fun track. Have fun.

i cannot imagine that the stock run flats will be very good on track. that being said as a novice you will not be at the limits of the car. if nothing else, you will trash the runflats and have to buys some real tire
I received my r56 quick fits yesterday. i will be installing them this weekend. so far i dont see any issues with them
