F56 JCW JB4 map 2 CEL

Is anyone here installed a JB4 on their JCW F56? I'm getting a CEL light on the map 2 setting only. Running 93 pump.

Only other mod is a catless DP from Mario.

And what was the code error after you got it checked?

It's a pretty blank post if we don't know what code you got.

Sorry new to the f56, I need to read up on the process of checking the code. other than the main menu system check

When I do the system check, through the main menu, everything is fine....

You should be able to use the JB4 to read the codes. If more convenient, just use an OBD reader.

The CEL only lights up everytime you switch to Map2? No CEL on Map1? Weird....

The Decat shouldn't give you a CEL because Mario's DP has an extender and the JB4 has emission CEL autoclear (default on). Also if it were emission related it would light up on both Map1 and 2. So most probably the CEL is not emission related. Read the code first and we should be able to help you.

Correct! only on map 2, but not always.. I can clear the code with the JB4, Drove it today on map 2 no CEL but I didn't go far. So its going on after a while of driving. I may get a code reader or I'm guessing hook up my data cable for the JB4, Thanks for the reply

While you have your data cable and laptop hooked up. Check if the JB4 CEL autoclear feature is turned off for some reason. If it's already activated then your code is most likely not because of the decat.

Before you clear the codes, can you see what the actual code is? Google the code and that should give us the information needed. Hopefully it's something minor since you're car is not going into limp mode. I'd take it easy on Map2 until you get a definitive answer on what's causing the CEL.

ok good advise, take it easy.. I only installed the DP a few days ago (16th) and the JB4 a few days before that. The JCW only has 4,000 miles on it, I heard something like it takes a few miles to learn the tune?

threw a code today again on (jb4) map2 (engine light on) it stays on even when I shut the car down then fire it back up. How it went on was interesting I probably drove for a good 20 mins then stopped for a bite to eat fired it back up 30 mins later, within minutes the CEL popped on.

Hopefully its just a o2 sensor, I installed the MArio DP less than a week ago. and may have twisted the wires on the o2 Sensors removing and installing them.

Tomorrow I will get an obd2 scanner or hook up my laptop up to the data cable I bought with the Jb4 unit.

just frustrating having 4k miles and throwing a code. whatever it is I will have to fix myself.

To use the cable, I presume you have to have a laptop with some kind of software loaded into it?

the first code is
#23 on the diagram.. in this link

http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/show...diagId=11_4753

the second code has to do with the optional boost gauge setting on the level indicator, I can disable that see if it helps.

I fixed it! I just had to disable Boost gauge on the fuel gauge option. Definitely a flaw on the JB4, may only happen on the JCW because of the higher boost levels than the MCS. I'm pretty sure they used a MCS for R&D
