Ok, thanks - I deserved that, I suppose.

In that in doesn't tell me much due to my not knowing much about these newer Minis. (Started off in a Classic Austin Cooper back in the early '60's, got a new 2004 in 2005, drove it for 120,000 miles trouble free until the 120K mark. Should have spent the $$ to fix it back up).

I'd settle for a "regular" radio that could be tuned to a new station without needing a PhD in German Electronics, didn't lose the set stations overnight, and had #s big enough to actually SEE.

Only had the car one week, tomorrow - it will seem simple in a few months

I have heard of "Bass Boost".

I have a Mercedes Sprinter van so I should have known - my bad.

YES - I just got mine out and now I have somewhere to put my right arm!!

Bought my 2014 from a Dodge Dealer: as I got in for the test drive, I asked the guy if It HAD to have "that thing" - he didn't know, he sells Dodge products - it was almost a deal breaker, What a kluge!

Maybe it's OK for people with shorter arms, but I'm 6'4" and it was always in my way. BOY! Is that back seat hard to wedge a guy my size into!

Not too worried about "the Hole" - mostly concerned about dog feet getting caught - right now I have a black hand-towel folded up and when I'm sure just what I want, I'll make a little custom-shaped pad out of some really soft leather I have, stuffed with rags or something.

Many, Many thanks to GergoryK for the photos!

Hey Guys. The wiring that goes to the armrest. There is an antenna and power feed etc. Anyone know what these do (besides giving you better in car reception)?
I have installed a click and drive adapter to hold my phone - mainly to see what is going on with my JB4 tune but was thinking that all those wires must end up in the form of an IPhone plug or micro USB depending on your phone and was wondering if I could feed those to the plug for the "click and drive".
Any thoughts? You would probably have to buy the adapter for the armrest or make your own....

I'm not sure on any of this. Mine had no wires at all going into or around it, and no antenna.

Matt. My armrest on both my 2014 and 2016 have 3 sets of wiring. Set Pic 4 and 5 on my original post. You are saying your car does/did not have the connector for the phone in the armrest. I always thought that was the reason for it - phone storage?

17s (and late build 16s) no longer have the snap in adapter available so no wiring.

OK figured out what that was after the install. I left that piece on and was thinking it was a bit high at the back! It would definitely be better to remove that piece but not 100% essential.
My replacement that I bought from ECS tuning had been well packed except the pointy ends. One of the front anchor points was really bent so I had to straighten it out with a set of pliers.
Looks great though. I could not be happier. Thanks for finding the part Matt. You Rock!

Doh, missed your first post until it was too late. Sorry about that. Yeah, it's hiding under where the armrest bolted down. I had to take it all back out after I missed it. Sort of inconvenient.

My pleasure. It fixed the only fault I've had wit this otherwise exquisite car!! I'm glad ECS could source more of the parts!

Has to come from overseas.

We have some in stock if anyone is looking for one. No need to wait for it to come from Europe.

Done! Thank you ECS and the guys that posted instructions. It took me an hour and an half. My elbow no longer hits the armrest from 3rd to 4th and 5th to 6th.

It says that is only for cars without the factory armrest.

That's most likely due to the fact that there's already something in the way. I'm sure this would fit in place of the factory armrest. It looks like this aftermarket one screws in to the bottom of the rear cup holder. I wonder if this is less obtrusive than the factory one.

I'm tempted to remove mine. A little extra storage is nice, but it does get in my way. I'm only 5'7" and the factory armrest annoys me.

Yes, its a rare not to have the factory armrest, almost like a euro part. Some people like the extra room.

Just wanted to say, THANKS!!!! That stupid armrest was driving me nuts with my 2017 F56 manual transmission. Seriously, it hits the parking break!?! Driving with it up still is a nuisance.

Finally went online and found this thread and read all 3 years of it! Then ordered the part from ECS!

Thank you all!

So no issues with the driving mode ring? It just snaps on?
