Can't fix EVAP problems in 2017 mini
Hi all, I have a 2017 Cooper 4dr (F56) and im pulling in codes P0440 & P0459 which is an EVAP system issue. I replaced the gas cap and the purge valve (the one located in the engine bay)but the codes are still coming up. Im at a loss of what else could be causing this? Some quick searches say that there is another valve located back down by the charcoal canister that maybe the culprit but I cant find the part # for it. I cant renew my plates because I cant pass the emissions test, i also can't afford a mechanic so im doing the work myself. So any help would be appreciated!

Suggest you get the car scanned with a tool that can read BMW/MINI-proprietary trouble codes. P-codes are generic OBD-II codes. Underlying them will be more specific trouble codes on the BMW/MINI-proprietary side.
A [relatively] cheap way in (generally a decent amount less than $100 USD) on this front: the BimmerLink app (runs on a smartphone) combined with a compatible OBD-II physical adapter (plugs into the OBD-II port). A link to compatible adapters is here (note that BimmerCode, referenced at the link, and BimmerLink, the app I'm discussing here, are sister apps made by the same company). Once you get whatever proprietary codes are rattling around, you can look them up for more detail at https://bmwfault.codes. I know this doesn't answer your question directly -- I don't have the answer there -- but hope this helps on the diagnostic side. |
16137300674Venting line with leak diagnosis moduleThis shows up in online stores as vent pipe, but it's actually the module.16137439033Vent pipe with dust filterYou'll need that too.I would pay someone to run a smoke test for leaks first. |
