Has anyone successfully removed the larger side scuttle trim?

Hey Guys,

Has anyone successfully removed the larger side scuttle trim? As I read around, they come from the the factory glued on?
Which means you can't just use floss string to remove it?

Picture for reference: https://new.minimania.com/images_tem...g3nmx1706a.jpg

Thanks!

I removed mine recently to have my fenders wrapped. It was a mess underneath. Don't know why they used adhesive instead of double sided tape but when I reinstalled, I used double sided tape and it looks fine.

Yes, its betalink, which does come off if you sit there and peel it, but its a pain and some may never really come off. The solvent is used to take that stuff off. BMW guys know about the troubles also. https://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1116968

Thanks for the great info guys, I was looking to remove my larger checkered scuttle trim and go with just the smaller scuttle for a cleaner look, but looks like that's not possible or at least really hard without damaging the paint.
