Usually July, however with Brexit and the factory closing in April its a great question. What did your dealer say?

I have not contacted my dealer. Seems they know less than the forum members. Strange how start times vary from model year to model year. 2018 seemed to be exceptionally short. My 2015 is nearing warranty end and would like to get a new one. Absolutely love the F56. Most fun car I've ever owned. Cannot see ever not having one in may garage.

As a current owner, there's a $2000 incentive to order one before the end of the month. Also, if you purchase a JCW before the end of the month, they are throwing in a day of MINI driving school.

Yes, it’s usually July. I will never forget waiting in 2015 for my JCW Manual that I ordered in early April...the delay in manufacturing the JCW Getrag Manual 6 speed trans pushed out production until June and my Wolfgang was finally produced on June 4th along with 38 other MT JCW’s produced in June that came to the USA....my JCW by my count is only the 3rd or 4th MT JCW imported to the USA! Worth the wait!...and I’m not interested in a 2020! Ha!

I am actually thinking of going this route now. Suggested it to my wife (she was wanting for a 2020), and will let it sink in since the 2020 doesn't appear to be offering any new colors or niceties.

Rumor has it that the 2020 F56 is bringing nothing of note new to the table (there was talk of 8 speed, DCT, HP bump etc), but apparently any of those will be reserved for the Gen 4 model. So waiting for the 2020 and losing the $2K incentive from Mini for essentially the same car doesn't make financial sense. We bought our 2015 in July of 2015 (and are looking to trade it for another Warrantied car), so in effect we are doing the same thing again.

Try and get the best deal I can with the dealership, then subtract the $2K incentive and the USAA $500 membership allowance.

If we go this route it will be next week and closer to the deadline so the dealership knows we are serious and realizes if they don't play ball they lose a sure sale.

We know that at least in Europe, the JCW will get the 8 speed auto from the Clubman/Country Man.

If you are ordering, keep in mine that the MINI factory in Oxford is doing their annual shutdown in April this year.

How much of an impact does the factory shut down have on the pre-order window. Is it as simple as adding four weeks to the usual window (I’ve heard 6-10 weeks)? My current lease ends at the end of June and was looking to order an F55 in the middle of April, which I thought was on the conservative end. Do I need to move up my timetable?

Hmmm. Deal says must take deliver by June 30 - so a three month window (should be long enough). Normally about 8+ weeks to get car after ordering...shut down should not be an issue (I hope). If I order next week and request goes in before April 1, the car should get added to production schedule. Build time is usually 1 week or so. Do not know dates of shut in Oxford, but potentially could get car built before shutdown....(again I hope)

I'm a USAA member and can get $1000 off on 2019's...but the $2000 offer by Mini (if ordered before 1 April) indicates it cannot be used w/ any other cash offers. So I assume the USAA is out of play for this deal.

When I ordered my JCW in April 2015 I only got $1,000 Spring sale credit, and my JCW was delayed due to the manual transmission production delay. My dealer busted their tails to get my car to me as soon as it arrived (and June 30th was likely the deadline) so they could get their dealer incentive $. As I recall it only arrived a few days earlier. It all worked out in the end, as we picked up my new JCW on July 1st!....whew...that was close! LOL!

I believe they even put a rush on it at the port to get the car delivered on time.

So, I'd say go ahead and order this upcoming April (or sooner) and you should be fine....not so sure if you wait longer, but I suppose everything can vary.

The entire concept of offering incentives that expire at a certain date if you don't take delivery is mind boggling stupid. If MINI factory can't complete and ship the order in time for delivery why should the customer or dealership suffer?

I agree. I assume they want to stimulate buyers to act and order quickly. It's causing me to visit our dealership next week to see if I can work a deal out. I suppose you can always refuse delivery if things go south due to circumstances beyond your control.

$#it happens. When I ordered my 2017 BMW M240i it had to get here by end of the year otherwise I'd have lost my trade-in allowance tax benefit (to detailed to go into, but trust it was a real deal for saving state Sales tax on 48K). Everything was going as planned until the shipping transport broke down in England. My car was stranded there. They had to transfer all the car to another ship (delay was 2 weeks). Fortunately my car arrived for pick-up at dealership on 21 December.

Always scary when there is time-limit. Thinking a 3 month window (1/4 year) should be pretty safe if we order next week.

Actually excited to be ordering a new one. Although very happy with the 2015 - I could drive it until the wheels fall off (love the car and it is decorated exactly the way we wanted (tasteful but cool). Checked KBB and my car is worth about $12,200 w/o factoring in the JCW tune. Plan to leave plenty of "meat on the bone" for the dealership, so they should bite. Money isn't a huge deal, but like to think I'm being treated fairly rather than being "reamed" and have the sales staff joking about it after the paperwork is signed.

Ordered my ‘19 JCW in mid July, delivered in early October. They beat three months by two weeks. Admittedly I live on the West coast USA, that’s at least 10 days longer delivery than you East coasters see.

I was surprised too - shows production status "150" 3/29/19 Have a production number and VIN#.

Maybe gets through the line before the shut down. Only approx 7 days to go from start to roll off the line.

Watch the boat sink.

Of course I will Did that on the last Mini and the BMW. At my age, about the only excitement I will experience (like watching paint dry).

Went more conservative this time around compared to my last one.

Wife liked Pepper White (we have never had a white car) so we went with body and roof (Pepper White)

Iconic Trim
Moon roof delete.
Satellite Grey leather
Satellite Grey Color-line trim
Dark Silver Dash surface
Dynamic Dampers
Chrome interior and exterior trim
JCW Tune kit
Universal Garage Door Opener/compass

No factory striping or tatoos - will look for something sedate - aftermarket (likely silver)

Will be pulling the stock 17 Tentacle wheels off and replacing w/ my Enkei RPF1.
.

Yeah, I hear ya. Got tired of watching paint dry and grass grow, so I ordered a MINI. Got to watch the ship transit the Canal. Not everyone in my circle fully understood or appreciated what it was that I found so enthralling. But then, they don't drive MINIs, so they will never know what we know.

Congratulations on your new car. It will be here before the paint dries or the lawn needs mowing.
