Remus Exhaust Help

Hello All,

I was hoping you could help explain the difference between the two Remus exhaust systems I see advertised for the F56. The first is the Sport which has a resonator in the midpipe but also a muffler design where exhaust will always be flowing through it:

Then you have the race version that does not have a resonator, but also has a completely different muffler design which models after the JCW pro system. It's also interesting that Remus advertises this exhaust exclusively for the 2015+ JCW on their website:

Can you guys help me out on this? It would make sense if both systems were identical except for the resonator, but why the different muffler design? Does one system have an advantage over the other besides the resonator? I would like to get opinions of users as I'm thinking about upgrading. I live in a very congested area so I've been a victim of the intermittent flap closure issues on my JCW Pro system. The gunshots are also a little loud with the valve open so I like the flexibility of the four modes with the Remus.

Thanks everyone!

I have the S as well and have the 2nd one pictured so i dont think it is JCW specific. When I talked to Remus, they told me they are identical systems, the biggest difference as you mentioned, the resonator.

It is an incredible system, its pricey yes, but probably one of the best mods Ive done to my car. No flap issues, the sound is amazing and it looks great.

Yep they had an early and later design by what I remember. And then, of course, the Res vs NON Res.

I can attest. The sound is amazing. Managed to snag a great deal from their ebay site for an open box from SEMA. Install was easy, hardest part was electrical since it was my first time. F55 is great and pops are sweet.

The first is the sport or axle back. As you can see no matter what the exh goes through the muffler and sound is changed by having one or two tips open. So these kits will either just be the rear muffler, or rear muffler with part of the front pipe with a resonator.

On the "Race" system the one pipe bypasses the muffler all together giving you more sound and less restriction than the axle back or sport would. You could add the resonated pipe to the front of this race system, but everyone prefers it without the resonator as it sounds great and not too loud, plus it's cheaper without a resonator.
Also that is the pic I took at SEMA a couple years ago when it came out.
I can tell you the Race system has by far been the most popular and I used it for the last 3 builds I did and it is perfect and perfect fit. You can run with the flap closed and keep quiet or open it up and it sounds awesome.
Also with the new Remus App to control the flap you can set when the flap opens and closes by RPM among other things.

The middle placed muffler gives space for a sufficient diffusor.

Anyone know if I can just poke the flaps open/closed manually? I am planning on buying the system without the remote component.
