70,000+ Miles Still Going Strong 2016 F55 Carbon Edition
I haven't posted any pictures lately so I figured hitting the 70,000 milestone was a good enough reason to post some.
Sure it has some front end road rash, but overall the paint is holding up well for a car without a clear bra protection. I added some more red and more carbon fiber since my last pictures. If you don't like carbon fiber, then you won't like this car, it's dripping with carbon fiber. It's been a blast to drive for the past 2 1/2 years coming from a Focus ST. The car still makes me smile every time I get behind the wheel. It's been fun modifying the car for looks and for performance, it's a fun platform to play with.

Funny you should mention that, I was talking with my dealer about replacing my windshield cowl and few other parts from "Road Debris", and they offered to try and replace it under warranty due to fading. But mine really wasn't faded at all. So I would assume the fading cowl must be a "Thing" with these cars. Of course when they saw that mine wasn't faded they wouldn't cover it under warranty. So I replaced it anyway and I have ordered a portion of the lower front bumper as I am not happy with a repair that was previously done. So I will replace it and have it striped and then cover it with a clear bra of some sort.

Sorry I didn't respond earlier. No major issues with the car at all. All dealer serviced using their CBS schedule. I am on my second set of tires, I got rid of the OEM run flats somewhere around 55,000 miles. Now I run a winter set up with the OEM wheels and a summer tire/wheel package as pictured above. Still running the original brake pads, but that may change soon, as I am doing a track day in mid November. The only wonky thing is with the JCW Pro Touring Exhaust and the bluetooth convection that drops quite frequently. I just brought it up with the dealership again and they are looking into what they can do for it. I normally have the module disconnected, but I figured I want it to work as it is designed too. I am not sure what the future holds for the car, the value will drop even faster as I hit 75,000 miles, so i may hang onto it well past 100,000 miles. I normally trade in before 75,000 miles, but frankly I enjoy this car too much and I have no idea what to replace it with as not many are making manuals any longer.

I bought a "15S in October 2014 and put close to 40, 000 miles and never had to take it to the dealer for anything but maintenance. I just ordered a '19S Iconic with the JCW tune and can't wait. Thanks for your reply. Unlike the first and second series, the F models seem to have Toyota/Honda like dependability. The BMW engines were a vast improvement.

Thanks for this thread. I love your car and the blue Vette on the lift.
I ordered an f55 Oxford Edition 6-speed manual this week (thanks grad school) and its great to see a thread about success and dependability. I am coming from a Honda that had 278k and very few problems...but I’m ready for something more fun. My Element was perfect for that time in our life, but I’m happy for the change.
Maybe be someday I’ll be in a position to have a hot rod mini like your Carbon edition, but for now I’m thankful that March should bring a fun car I can carry the family in if I need to.

I just passed the 75,000 mile mark today. I am working with my local dealership to correct the bluetooth connection lose issue with the factory JCW exhaust. But that is a minor issue to say the least.
Plus now that I am at 75,000 miles I wrestling with the idea of selling the car while it's still under the extended warranty and maintenance contracts, so I don't take the bigger lose in value after I pass 100,000 miles. But my concern is what to buy next? There really isn't anything out there, other than maybe an BMW M2 that peaks my interest, but I would need used as my price point to buy in around $45,000. I don't want another F-Series MINI, as this one is dialed in perfectly for what I want and wouldn't want to start over. But I am curious about the newly confirmed GP model for next year or maybe the long rumored 300hp Clubman.

That is one cool lookin Mini! Glad to hear of the solid reliability. I just got mine and I'm really enjoying it - what a blast to drive. I'm toying with the idea on buying that JCW tune/bluetooth exhaust, how long / how many miles have you had it on? Aside from that bluetooth connection issue, is it holding up well or having tone changes/issues with the miles?

The car came delivered with the JCW exhaust, so it now has 76,000 miles on it and no issues other than the minor bluetooth not connecting. I have bypasses the whole bluetooth thing anyway, but I do have an appointment for MINI to replace the module at my next service visit.
I am toying with the idea of selling the car before I hit 80,000 miles. I have the maintenance and warranty on the car up to 100,000 miles, so there is some value to selling now, before I hit 100,000 and the value really tanks. My issue is there is nothing out their in my price range ($45,000) that excites me, so I guess I will just keep smiling in my Mini.

Well I am testing the waters, i just put the car up for sale on a the local Craig's List for $19,500 (relative to my pay off amount). If anyone is interested let me know. My thought process is if I offer it for sale now there is some value, as I have the 100,000 warranty that is valid for another 24,000 miles and two years PLUS I have the Maintenance paid for 100,000 miles as well and since this a 2016 model, it includes the brakes and wiper blades. Otherwise I will keep driving it for another 75,000 miles until it's paid off and I will get a few grand on a trade in value.
I have a full list of the mods and extras on the car, and I was shocked to learn i have spent over $15,000 on the upgrades to the car!! Shoot me a PM or email if you want more details.
Thanks
