Aftermarket F56 JCW front pad and rotor

I just got my front brake warning, wondering what everyone is running?

Looking for aftermarket options on pads and rotors

Also is there a way to turn off the warning?

Thanks!

Which warning is it, the one on the infotainment system or the physical light, if it is the physical light you have to replace the sensor. For aftermarket pads I went with Carbotech Bobcats, which I love, but I don't usually do racing, just canyon carving, they are amazing on the road and do not do squeal or make a ton of noise.

Also, I have a set of OEM ones I received with my JCW brake retrofit if you decide to go OEM again. I'm looking to get rid of them.

The speedo dash display 1500km maintenance warning when I turn on the car, and the entertainment screen also show I need maintenance on the front brake.

I'm not sure if I need to change the sensor, and if I do, i rather disable the reading on the sensor. Is there a way?

Yes. You can buy a new one and tie it up out of the way, but I don't really want to suggest that to you as I am not a fan of removing warning lights like this.

I also suggested Carbotech Bobcats, but they are expensive.

I still want to understand when do I need to change the sensor or when I don't need to.

My warning comes on when my car starts...and on the infotainment. I'm not sure if there's another type of warning.

Ah no worries then.

The F56 MINI has two brake service warnings. A computer-controlled system that reads your brake application and driving habits and estimates when you need to check them, which appear on the center console for a few seconds on startup and can be found under the system check.

The other is hard-wired and completes the circuit and stops keeps the light in the instrument cluster from coming on. When the brakes reach a critical point the wire is worn apart by the brake rotors and this signal comes on.

The first one can be quickly reset at a dealer using the key, the second one will require a replacement of the brake sensor, and I HIGHLY suggest replacement of brake rotors and pads.

EBC Yellow pads paired with a good set of tires. Im running EBC yellows on my MCS with Michelin Pilot Super Sport's. Insane brake force compared to stock. I can pretty much slam on my brakes full force and I dont lose traction or hit ABS

What rotors are you running? If you don't mind me asking.

Stock rotors for now. They were still in perfect shape as installed the upgraded pads at around 15k miles. Once I kill off these pads and rotors im thinking about upgrading to wilwood front BBK.

Was looking at
EBC and stoptech for their cross drilled and slotted
EBC is 11.6" diameter
Stoptech is 12.44" diameter

Not sure if the stoptech would fit

Do you have JCW? or have you upgraded to the Brembo Brakes? See attached photo.

If so you have 335 mm front rotors and 259 mm rears and therefore need 13.2" front rotors with 10.2" rear rotor.

I suggest you use this phrase "Mini Cooper Jcw Front Brake Rotor Each Oem Gen3 F56 F57 Cooper " in a google search and click on the first link to see the different sizes for the F56. Neither of those sizes are correct, What year is your JCW?

Thanks for catching that we updated our site with the correct inches. MM size is correct.

When you installed your pads, did you have to get new oem clips?

And did your stock sensor works on the EBC yellows?

If I recall correctly, the EBC pads came with new clips.
