Swap direction of shifter?
I've been driving a VW with a DSG for a while and I'm thinking about getting back into a Mini (perhaps after the DCT is available). I'm used to the non-BMW orientation on the shifter (push to go up a gear, pull to go down) and I'm wondering if it's possible to swap the Mini shifter to work that way. I've been googling and found some info suggesting you could switch two hardware pins in the shifter plug, but that info was 10+ years old. Does anyone have more recent information?
If it was just a one time switch, I'd just suck it up and re-learn the muscle memory, but we have another DSG VW that I drive occasionally. I don't think my brain can handle switching back and forth regularly.
Not a deal breaker, but it would be nice to sync up the controls.
Cheers.

We have done this before on R56 cars and actually even had one side go one way and the other do the opposite.
If you gave my your car and a few hours I'm sure I could do the same for you, just don't know if you can bring it to Atlanta.

One per side is fine for a race car where you always want both hands on the wheel at all times. (This is also an argument I quote for why we want the floppy paddles - you don't have to let go of the wheel to reach the shift lever.)
p.s. all my R56's were +/- on both sides. F65's one per side.
