For those curious, I bought the slat which was taken off of a JCW grill, and to my understanding, can not be ordered separately from the main grill piece. I then removed the original chrome piece, and it was a simple take off and put on procedure from there.

Looks great, I love that piece on my jcw. As far as ordering, I've seen the slat sold by itself from a few of the forum sponsors.

Thanks! Yeah, it really gives the car a mean look. I may be wrong, but I thought they only sold a non-OEM cover for the slat, not the actual piece!

I had a local "tinter" wrap mine initially. Looked fine except the color he used was more orange. Didn't show up until I had my brake ducts pulled and painted "Chili". So I asked Mini Service if the could pull the chrome piece off and send it in for painting. They tried and could do it so I order a JCW grill. When I got my car back w/ my original grille, I tried to pull the chrome piece off myself and destroyed it. It was glued in place and not clipped as shown in the video. Mine is a 2015 S.

I also destroyed quite a few clips on mine, too, but that's due to me being a little impatient!

Bought a slat cover from ECS and as the paint was LOUSY I resprayed with Duplicolor Ford CARDINAL RED. Next I fabricated some clips from scrap plastic and used pop rivets to secure to the lower portio n of my GEN II JCW. Sorry, I don't know how to post pix but it looks great and survives triple digit speeds.
