Startup after Storage

My 2016 S is sitting in FL until probably December. Total of almost 9 months. Would you remove the fuel pump relay (if I can find it!) and crank for a while before starting or just start 'er up?

Hit the ignition switch once to let everything cycle up then start it up.

Id be more concerned about your battery then the relay. Use a trickle charge for that

Yes, I have the battery on a C-Tek charger.

do an oil change also

rockhouse66 07-11-2018 06:05 PM

I got the car in January and parked it in March. I now wish I had gotten an oil change before I parked it, but I do plan to have the oil changed right away when I return and do the start up. Too bad you can't take a look at the oil appearance on the dipstick :sad:

Well guessing did minimal mileage so should be ok, but yeah still change before starting. Does suck not having dip stick. Also fuel stabilizer is a good idea next time

I did fill up with ethanol free gas just before storage which I hope will help. I have heard that Sea Foam actually works so perhaps I should consider that in the future. Good suggestion.

What trickle charger are you using? I need to get one this winter

rockhouse66 07-15-2018 09:36 AM

I am using the C-Tek 3300, which I purchased here;
