F55/F56 CEL = EAC Sensor Failure

CEL = EAC Sensor Failure
Check Engine Light appeared at startup after the car sat undisturbed in the garage for the weekend. Off to the dealer for diagnosis and repair. Apparently, the radiator is part of the emissions package, and is coated with a catalyst. I've heard of this being tested by Volvo, but this is the first I have heard about it going into production, Air flows through the radiator, and a catalyst coating breaks down ozone, into oxygen. The EAC sensor is an Environmental Air Catalyst sensor. All this sensor does it tell the car that a specially coated radiator is installed. What's bad is if the sensor goes out (mine failed triggering the CEL), the entire radiator has to be replaced. After two days in the shop, I'm back in the saddle. Enjoyed the loaner (non-S) Clubman's smoother ride but I missed the punch of the S's 4 cylinder turbo.
The car is new to me, so I'm hoping this is the last of the unpleasant surprises for a while.
Cheers!
