F55/F56 Turbo Lag?

Turbo Lag?
Got a question for those in the know. Had my F55 w/JCW tuning package for a year now. Have done a few autocross and a road track day, performance has been great except for the AX stuff. I notice a huge amount of turbo lag when going form fast brake to gas transitions; say a tight box hairpin set up where the car is maybe at 20mph and you need to nail it. Even coming out of tight turns, it struggles to do anything for a few seconds.
Have tried tapping the throttle, getting on gas as early as possible, you name it; just a real hard lag when you need power most. Even my girlfriend did a few sessions as was like "well, I nailed like the instructor said, but nothing happens for a few seconds!"
The funny thing is, i've NEVER experienced this on the street before. Car is an absolute terror in city and highway driving; holds it own against any 400hp+ car in that environment (more about whimpy drivers, but that's another conversation ;-)
Pretty sure the open exhaust valve is not the issue (which i don't use on the street), but still, its kind of odd. Just not too experienced in small turbo cars to know if its right, or better yet, how to overcome it.
Dropping it off at Mini Manhattan today for something else, will see if they can check it out. Have a feeling they'll poo-poo the race use, but I'll agree they points in their marketing. We'll see.
