F56 MINI Cooper S - ECU tune to 292 BHP / 392 NM

Pretty impressive numbers for an otherwise stock car (zero mods except ECU tune)

As far as I'm aware this is the first tune which is direct to the ECU and not a piggyback tune using a box that plugs into the MAF and throttle body. Carried out by a French / Belgian tuner called ShiftTech.....

I guess it shows how much potential this 2.0 B48 engine has

On the mods thread some guy in Florida installed a much larger turbocharger and downpipe in his. I don't think it's done yet but he'll have it tuned as well. Looking forward to that project. I never heard of anyone putting a bigger aftermarket turbocharger in a Mini other then the factory JCW one.

There are quite a few threads about guys having larger turbos and hybrid turbos. More common than you might think .

yeah I guess I never looked for that stuff. This guy's hoping for 350HP . Someone questioned if the block can withstand that much boost. He said "I guess I'll find out".

What kind of stress will this have on the car? I'd love to have even 50 more HP. This car would haul with close to 300 HP...

Looks like it would be $745 for the flash. Not too terrible actually. Tunes for the R56 were around $450 plus a tuner for another $300ish. Wonder if they will reflash as needed if dealer gets a hold of it. Will have to email them about this. Jan at RMW says he'd be tuning F56 as well once the codes are cracked. Interesting. Beats the heck out of the plug in boxes.

Anyone figure out the details to this tune yet? I'd love to get some cheap power out of this car.

Look at the JB Burgertune thing. It clips on in minutes and you can remove it. Supposed to add like 30-40 HP costs around $400.It's been around a long time for Minis.

Is it available for the new Miini's? I have a 2014 in the new body style. Have there been any horror stories? Does the dealership know about it when the car goes in?

Yes they have them for the 3rd gen MINI's as well. And the dealer would not find out as long as you unplug it before you go in.

Here's a thread about it and another similar clipon tune thing. They're pretty reasonable. I bet the Justa with one would rock. I'd get one but I really don't want any more power, I'd get arrested!
