F56 2015 CDA - Letter re: Delay Rec'd Today

1 Attachment(s)
My F56 2015 car del date was/is for tomorrow. I email my SA and asked if I could pick it up knowing that this would not be the case. My SA has NEVER reached out to me since June 12th. I feel that I am on my own. 3rd Mini in 6 years, isn't this good enough to be treated like a somebody, rather than a nobody ??? I am, or was a loyal customer of the brand, not so much anymore. I feel like canceling my order.

hammerhands Sep 4, 2014 02:58 PM

They said nothing to me until I was at the dealer.

The dealers must have been told to keep quiet, too!

MINIwuff Sep 4, 2014 03:00 PM

Hang in there ... we're almost home!

Although, I would encourage you to politely give your dealer a piece of your mind about why they have not better informed you of this delay. If MINI, NA can do it, why couldn't they? And remember to politely ask what they are going to do for you to make you feel like you should hang on for the additional 3-4 weeks. Maybe some complimentary accessories? Another $500 or more off the price? Some cool new matching MINI luggage? Or how about a couple of lease or finance payments?

Months from now you will be enjoying your new F56 and grinning ear to ear with the rest of the MINI owners for years to come. And that is definitely worth the wait ... trust me.

@MINIwuff.....MANY MANY THANKS for your valuable input. Well said !!!!! I will contact my SA, and use some of your suggestions to hopefully make this a less painful experience. I have had no car since June 12th when I traded it in. The dealer GM and owner wanted to provide me a loaner vehicle until my arrived. Issues are, $5000 Fleet Ins Deductible. My own insurance company would not insure me because I have no primary vehicle to piggy back insurance from. My primary vehicle was traded in at the dealer on June 12th. I shot myself in the foot by giving up my vehicle far too early to make another customer and dealer happy. I lost out big time.

MINIwuff Sep 4, 2014 05:14 PM

Ugh, that is no fun at all. Sorry to hear that you are rendered car-less during this process. Hopefully it will go by quickly and they will be able to get your new MINI to you as soon as they are released!

If you log into your OL account and check the status of your vehicle... then select "order details" is should have an estimated date of when it will be at your dealer. You can also call the 1800 number which may have more up to date info... you need your order number or VIN.

"1-866-ASK-MINI (1-866-275-6464): (Production Status and Dates)
ASK-MINI is a live support center setup by MINIUSA to handle all of your calls and inquiries related to your MINI order. ASK-MINI is your best bet for information related to the current status of your order from about two weeks after you order until the day it leaves the factory in Oxford. This system is divided into two main interfaces:
-Automated: The automated system is okay for when you need your fix and it is outside the hours ASK MINI is open (9am to 9pm EST). However the automated system is not much better than the information found on the Owner’s Lounge.
-Customer Relations: Real live people, and incredibly friendly / helpful ones at that! I strongly encourage you to skip the automated piece and ask directly for Customer Relations. If you supply them with your Production Number, they’ll be able to tell you your current status and anything they might know about the future of your MINI. They are the first resource that will be able to tell you final information for your production and completion dates and can also tell you at what stage of production your MINI is in (assembly painting, final quality check, etc.)"

I don't know that they're actually updating everyone's OL account with a date. My car has been sitting at the NY VDC since 8/8 and I still do not reflect a delivery date in the OL order details page. I don't even have a field titled 'estimated delivery' or similar, although there is a blank line that looks like it would be where I would find that information if it were available.

OL shows my car still enroute, yet I know from VIN on WW site it was offloaded on Aug 7th. I pay it no mind.

Very sorry to hear of your dilemma. Especially in that you traded in your vehicle expecting a timing delivery of your '15 Mini. I surely hope your dealer compensates you in some way because of your situation.

Alas, Mini USA continues to fail with how and when they communicate with customers, including through dealers and through their online order tracking tools. I love my '14 Mini S, but I am extremely disappointed with how customers are treated (including by some dealers). My own dealer, New Country in Hartford, has been exceptional. I guess I'm very fortunate.

hotrunner Sep 5, 2014 05:23 AM

@CobraBob......thanks for your support. The dealer that I am with is really exceptional. Everyone goes above and beyond the call of duty, EXCEPT the SALES department. I expressed this to the owner and GM of the dealership. I said that this is unfortunately the weakest link in the entire organization. The sales mgr was just let go after 6+ years. He loved his job. I took @MINIwuff suggestion and wrote a nice and very polite email to my SA last night explaining all the issues upsetting me. I will wait for a reply. I have been far too tolerant, sitting and waiting in silance. Better communication from all departments should have been done. It wasn't.

Anyone heard anything i.e. Rumours or talk about how the EPA certification is going and if the target date of Oct 1 is realistic or will it be sooner or later than this date for F56 2015 delivery ?!!
Thank you in advance.

MyOrangeOne Sep 10, 2014 09:08 PM

I received that same letter a couple of days ago. It was an attachment to a note from my sales person. I called him & said that my biggest concern was the fact that Mini has not directly contacted those who have ordered cars. He agreed. I called BWM/Mini with the number on the letter. Customer relations was very nice, apologized several times about the problem. Checked on my order & said it had arrived at the port in S Cal. He did not address why the EPA delay. I think part of the problem is BMW's decision to go totally paperless & someone simply didn't get the job done.

It seems the EPA testing was done on schedule. Others have stated they have heard that 1 Oct is going to happen. But nothing official.

Agreed...MA indicated they have 67 cars to deliver, and obviously everone wants theirs first. They will be delivered in the order they were placed. He also said realistically, probably somewhere from the 1st-5th. IF all goes as scheduled. There is more info here than from the dealer.............

hotrunner Sep 12, 2014 03:18 AM

Oct. 1 was the start of delivery as per our letter received. Do you think it would be sooner and BMW/MINI would then look like heroes in the customers eyes ? Or do you really think it will take to Oct.1 or maybe longer ?...must be hurting sales but good, and it is hurting us very patient customers especially with no wheels to drive.

pagliar Sep 12, 2014 04:45 AM

There has been a new engine designation for the S model. It was a B48 now it is a B46, so something is going on there, but the non S model hasn't changed. I wonder why they can't/won't start delivery of them sooner. Guess we will have to wait and see.. I'm not so good at waiting.

g34343greg Sep 12, 2014 05:15 AM

I doubt it'll happen, but I would be extremely excited if they were able to start sending cars to dealerships and I could pick mine up right on October 1st. They can just send my window sticker with EPA approved mileage and emissions information in the mail :)

wtwien Sep 12, 2014 05:31 AM

I don't believe the cars can leave the VDC until Mini has the Final approval from EPA. If October 1st is the day that Mini gets the blessing to sell cars. You still have to take in account the cars have to be delivery to the Dealers and then the Dealer prep. If you live close to VDC then maybe October 3 if you lucky. Lets hope it is sooner then later.

hotrunner Sep 12, 2014 05:35 AM

As per the letter to customers from BMW/MINI........they say this " Customer deliveries are expected to start as soon as October 1, 2014.".....I presume that this means delivery from the dealers would be October 1st..????!

hammerhands Sep 12, 2014 06:57 AM

Knowing nothing sucks.

hotrunner Sep 12, 2014 07:00 AM

I agree !!!! We deserve better, and with R-E-S-P-E-C-T

hotrunner Sep 19, 2014 11:21 AM

Anyone in the USA receive an email like this one from their dealer ???
Is this for real ?
Another month delay ...YIKES !!!!...,. I can't wait any longer.....I am contemplating in cancelling my order.

"I hope you are getting excited, your MINI is almost here! MINI USA should be releasing all 2015s mid to late October, so you've got about one more month! Can't wait to see how yours turned out! Have a good day "

Where did that come from? This is the first I've heard of mid to late October.

g34343greg Sep 19, 2014 11:37 AM

ugh.
i will be very upset if it is true!

although if i hear similar, i will call again, b*tch some more, and see what else i can get out of them.

and until we get our cars, my wife will be racking up the miles on her loaner and i will be doing the same on my VW that the dealership has locked in the trade value for (I've put about 5k on it since we agreed to numbers).

hotrunner Sep 19, 2014 11:45 AM

Someone posted on website minif56.com today. I read it in disbelief.
http://www.minif56.com/forum/313-pur...epa-delay.html

Can anyone confirm this info, true or not true ?
