That is one screwball caliper design. Seems like all of the benefit of a fixed caliper is lost by having the pad area open like that. I also assume a lot of the actual caliper size is really just a mass damper and not pad area? While I'm making fun of things, 350mm seems pointlessly large for a relatively light car.

^^ There is no way on earth that car is only lowered 20mm as per the JCW suspension - so either the info I have found is wrong, or MINI have decided to run different springs for the launch!

It's might be 20mm like my Gp2, but in reality it's only 10mm up or down from center. Pretty conservative.

My thoughts eaxctly. It has to add unnecessary unsprung weight as well. Too large IMO.

Your Mini Looks Great! That should be how they sit stock. Do you have a lot of issues going in and out of drive ways?

Is that Tuning Kit (without exhaust tips) for the exhaust system only? If so, $2,167. is way expensive. Or does it include a tuning chip.

It appears to be tuning as well due to the fact the HP raises from 189hp to 208hp. Thats how it is for the R56 tuning kit. Exhaust alone wouldn't add 20hp.

208hp is the same as my N18 JCW engine, which has a bigger turbocharger. I bet the simple 5 minute install thingy already available for $400 will equal the JCW tune.

Oh yeah definately. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying the JCW Tuning kit is value for money just trying to make a guess-answer for CobraBob.

The JCW kit is nuts. An exhaust for the F56 at most should be about $750-$800 retail. I would love to see a flow and dyno test on the JCW exhaust vs The Stock F56 exhaust.

Anything branded JCW is going to be expensive.

Case in point ...

OEM Sealing Plate for R53 Intercooler ... $42.35

That's what I was thinking, too. 20hp on this car with exhaust is way high. I guess the tuner part is implied. Still not cheap, of course. Nice that performance upgrades are now on the rise for our cars.

The power gain is probably from the reflash. The exhaust is just there for sound/eye candy/"look what my smart phone can do."

The bluetooth exhaust is not controlled by a smartphone!

This has been covered countless times - its controlled by a small remote control.

You are correct on the ECU reflash. I called the dealer and my buddy said it's not possible to get the JCW tuning aspect without the exhaust and intake(which I think is dumb).

It's a money grab. Typically speaking you need to remove airflow restrictions when increasing boost, timing, etc....but this engine is so detuned I doubt it is necessary. This is no different than Dinan upgrades for BMW.....over priced conservative tunes for consumers with deep pockets and no desire to push the envelope.

There will be much better options for half the price down the road.

I figured that since I modded my car so I knew they were just trying to get me to buy more products from the dealer. When I buy my 135i, I still won't get my car tunes by Dinan, those prices are outrageous haha. JB4 for me.

What about the pricing and hp increase on that jcw antenna topper? +5hp? But I don't want it to void the warranty...
