The armrest is very sturdy and I find it comfortable.

I just took a ride to test the LED headlights, since it is now dark out. You know, any excuse to take my baby out for a stroll. LOL. First, the LED headlights are phenomenal. Brightest and whitest I have ever had. Superior to my wife's Xenon HID headlights (2012 Hyundai Azera). The cornering LEDs (if you went with the cornering lights option) is well worth the money. MINI/BMW did these right. As you turn, special LEDs turn on, lighting the area on the right or left depending on which way you're turning. When you complete your turn they turn off. Awesome system IMO.

If you are thinking about ordering a MINI, I highly recommend that you seriously consider the 'LED headlights with the cornering lights' option. It's $1,250.00 but well worth the cost IMO.

Yea the lights are awesome...I wasn't even thinking about them until the test drive. Also I like that the lights with cornering are black inside instead of the gray.

Looks like you have a manual shift
Does the armrest bump your elbow when shifting?

Great review and pictures. My MCS BRG left Southhampton this past Monday and expected in California by May 8th. Can't wait! Thanks for sharing your experience.

As a big person now I'm worried about the sport seats. (I'll live...)

What a tastefully specced car - that interior looks awesome with the green - oh la la! I'm encouraged to hear that the sport seats might favour a slim build as I've never had decent lateral support in previous sporty rides.

Congrats, enjoy it in good health!

I said it before, but that's the perfect color combo for a British car

No, I don't believe so. At least I never noticed. Kind of comfortable, actually.

T
Is your elbow resting on the armrest while you are shifting?
my MA told me to take it off my order (MCS Manual) because it would
get in the way of shifting. I truly wanted the armrest, it also makes a nice entry balance point

Hmmm. You just gave me another excuse to take it out for a drive. LOL. I'll run out around 10AM and then report back when I return.

Before you take that drive, we want to know how many miles you put on the odo yesterday to see who wins.

Does the armrest move or is it fixed in the down position?

It moves up and down.
When I played with it in the automatic, it bumped my elbow.
I tried the arm in both positions.
The shift arm may be different in the manual than in the auto.
The armrest has a interior compartment for charging your I phone.
I personally like it, but if it impedes the shifting??
My MCS is on order, so it may be too late for me.

Admittedly I ordered prior to checking one out, so I guess I'll see how it works for me hopefully in a couple of weeks.

As a fellow "big person" I hear ya. I sat in the sport seating for the first time yesterday. It was, ummm, snug, but doable. I look at it as a gentle reminder that I need to get back on my diet :D

It looks like a speaker grille on the armrest passenger side. What's that?

I asked at the dealership the other day he said it was a vent for the phone so it will not over heat.

As you can add it (or not)- it will unbolt ad the wires can be unplugged...like I the R56.
When I ordered mine it was part of a package. I always planed on removing it. Will see what Bob says but think that is still very likely.

Hey Bob,

Do you have any more pictures of the spoiler on your MCS BRG?

Thanks,
Andrew

Andrew, I'll post a photo or two of the rear spoiler in the morning. I won't be able to take photos until later tonight.

Mileage put on the car yesterday? Not nearly what most expected, but that was mainly because I had to work most of the afternoon. I drive 68 miles. Added maybe another measly 10 miles today. LOL. But I can tell you that I have had an absolutely blast with every one of those miles. This car is so much fun. Haven't had so much fun driving a car since my old '03 Cobra. Hopefully tomorrow my wife and I can take a run down to Mystic, CT. That will add a good 150 miles to the odometer.

In just about every picture from a dealer in the U.K. [like in UberFisch's CT pic] there are some or many Classic Minis. Are those for sale?

There's a Fiat Spider at the local Fiat dealer, I haven't asked, yet.

Does the armrest interfere with the manual shifting?
Does your elbow bump the rest when going to second or fourth?
Does your arm just rest on top of the armrest and move back and forth
while on the armrest?

Congratulations the Mini looks ace, fab choice on the colour combo, the brown interior works perfectly with the BRG and the black wheels give it the 'sport look' every mini deserves :-) Enjoy!
