5/15 for me...still at the port.

So painful knowing it's not getting closer...

I heard they do an inspection at/near the port before putting it on a truck to the dealer. So once at the port, probably a day or two for inspection, and then for me it will be about one day to truck over to phoenix...

The BMW inspection facility is 1.8 miles from P Hueneme.
My Guess:
1 Day unload
1 day to BMW
2 day minimum inspection at BMW (priority 1 for special orders)
1 day to dealer
Best scenario 5 days

What's your bet?

Where in So Cal are you?
I live in Surf City
Dealer Santa Ana

I think they have a port inspection as well, where they add certain accessories?

So after all of that, mine was actually put on a boat 5 days ago. The Ask Mini rep had the info for the first time today.

Morning Chant is currently off Ensenada Mexico.
The skipper is well off-shore, so......
No Hussong"s Cantina this trip.
She is approx. 177 miles south of Port Hueneme.
ETA at Hueneme wil be 1:40 AM PST
Now we'll see:
1) How long to unload
2) Time to transpoprt to BMW facility (1.8 miles)
Do they drive em or truck them?
3) Time at BMW Facility
4) Time to transport 70 miles to dealer in Santa Ana Ca
5) Days at dealer for prep
MY GUESS IS ?
Hell I'll just go get it myself, I'm tired of the wait!

Did you know that the Minis with 15" wheels get their sea legs sooner?
No worries, Merazine Minnie is on board to distribute drugs
to all the 18 Wheelers.

Have a heart, guys! You are making me soooo jealous! At least you are in/near SoCal...I've got to wait for mine to get trucked to Portland, OR. I just hope my MA can get the dealer prep and add-ons (clear bra, window tinting and mud flaps) scheduled so I can fly out soon after it arrives and drive my car 600 miles home...kind of sucks not having a dealership anywhere near the Northern Rockies!

But, WhooHoo! The Morning Chant has changed course and is heading straight towards the Channel Islands and Port Hueneme. Looks like she's directly west of Carmel Valley...almost here!!!

I guess the skipper will have to hit Hussong's Cantina on the return trip.

Look forward to everyone's pic's when you pick up your cars.

At least it's only going to Portland. Mine is on a boat behind you and has to make it up to Seattle. :S Ooh the waiting!

Okay, now I feel bad...If you are on the next ship, can I assume that means you are only about 1 week behind? Hopefully less? Hang in there!

Actually, we almost went to NW MINI and Tacoma MINI, but at the time in March, they didn't have as many demo vehicles to test drive. Like you, the wait is killing me!

Morning Chant ,7:25 PST:
Chant is off shore 1 mile and engaged with 2 tugs.
They will escort her to her birth at Port Hueneme.
On board Miss Minnie is dusting and checking tire pressure so your new
pride and joy can disembark in dignified fashion.
The parade will ensue shortly.

7:45 AM, in port
Currently docking.

I went to Seattle MINI for the purchase. So far it's been good. I mean they got my order in so I was at the very beginning of may instead of now so no complaints here.

She's currently mid-Atlantic right now. Due into port on June 12. I can't wait to see yours and the others too.

Ah, yes - Our "PJ" (or Puddle Jumper) loves a MINI parade and is anxiously awaiting her turn as well. She was a little distressed, but understanding, when the ship stopped offshore in the wee hours...she can't wait to get her next piggyback ride, see the sights up the coast of California (oh, all right, it'll probably be I-5 all way), and scoop in incense cedar-scented air.

Looking forward to seeing newborn pics of Miss Minnie and others!

A couple days ago my status was: "At port awaiting vessel assignment", but when I checked today I seem to have gone backwards as my status is once again: "Production completed, awaiting release to carrier". When I spoke with a real live person he confirmed the computer system showed that my status was reversed, but he could give no explanation as to why. He also could not give any information as to where my car was at this point. Maybe it will turn up soon (on a boat, I hope).

Did you put your vin into the WW website? That may answer some questions if it shows up. Mine missed it's first boat and it said "returned to shipper" it then got booked to a new boat the next day.

Yep, I've checked every day since production was completed on 5/19. Just to verify I'm checking properly, I only need to enter the VIN in the field marked "Cargo ID", correct?

That is correct. Well hope for the best. It's very fuzzy between the production complete and on the ship.

Note: use marine tracker website to track your ship. You are able to zoom in all the way and see what is going on. Even if the tugs are carrying it out to sea

Thanks. Just looked up the website, very cool. For the time being, I will just force myself to wait patiently.

Which tracking site are you using? The last update that I can find for the Columbia Highway is 5/24.
