Remove the battery cover and the round part slides right off. Instructions for battery cover are in the owners manual.

Edit: You beat me to it.

These new fob covers are just what I was looking for. Fantastic work! I just placed my order for a v.1 and v.3 both in green. Can't wait to be rid of the bulky OEM fob.

What is the consensus for best fit, v.1 or v.3?

Just ordered an orange one to match my Volcanic F56 I picked up yesterday. I uploaded a 1920x1080 png file of the Mini logo (http://www.carlogos.org/logo/Mini-lo...-1920x1080.png), scaled to 120% and i'll report back with how it looks! Looked super official on the preview!

Another storefront has a lot more designs available - worth considering as well!

Has anyone tried any of these designs? I'm curious how they fit and feel compared to the v1/v2/v3 discussed in this thread.

A side note, the compass version looks extremely uncomfortable. I can't imagine putting that in my pocket.

Thanks

Has anyone tried the V3 in high-def acrylate? I am interested to see if it works as well as the strong and flexible.

I have the Union Jack + MINI cover on mine and I had the v2 before. The new one fits just as good if not better and the design is more fun

Some of those designs are....How would you....in your pocket?...

just went on the shapeways site .....i see the V3

https://www.shapeways.com/product/WK...ionId=59665577

and also the V2

https://www.shapeways.com/product/L9...ionId=59615160

those were the only ones designated as designed by devries ......no V1 ...but what is the difference, without me reading all 18 pages of this thread? can i assume that V3 being the latest version is the one to buy?

Six of one or half dozen of the other. More a personal choice I guess. I have two of the V1 covers that I bought when they first came out. I've had no trouble with either and only paid about seven bucks shipped for the pair.

The differences were improvements to fit and quality over v1. Definitely go for v3.

just installed my V3 in blue ...NICE .... ....fits perfectly ...the hardest part
was taking off the darn MINI plate of the FOB ...was VERY difficult and took a LOT of pressure as it was really resisting and did chip a little just where you stick in the end of the key ( i had to use a screwdriver to go in further ...but just a tiny chip) .....thanks Devries

I got a couple of the Union Jack ones before I found this this thread. I am pretty happy with them. They are much more practical than the original ones, I don't understand how they expect people to keep that bulbous thing in their pocket all day.

I've been reading this thread and decided to take that big, round "thing" off of my Fob - and just leave it NAKED !

Works great - cheaper than buying any knock-off, smaller, too.

"Doesn't look as good"? C'mon - nobody ever sees it, it's in my POCKET !!
