Dinan Elite problem?

Got a 2014 S Hatchback that I bought with 18,000 miles back in June 2017. Had a Dinan Elite tuner installed October 2017 that was suppose to add 60 HP, or so. January 2019 I was experiencing problems with the losing power under acceleration as though gas supply stopped momentarily and then starting working again. Had the high pressure fuel pump changed when the car just flat quit running during commuter traffic. Stopped dead! Had it taken to the local dealer who replaced the fuel pump, then a week later the fuel rail sensor sent out, and just a few days ago it died on the road again in commute traffic, had it towed to the Mini dealer who ran diagnostics and said there was a low fuel pressure pump problem. Said that when the Dinan was disconnected the problem went away. Removed the Dinan Elite and it appears to be working fine now, with no loss of power. Has anyone has experience with Dinan, and are the Elite Units all they are suppose to be for $900? Really? 60 HP gain (or whatever they say it is) for real.

The car now has 98,000 on odometer and feels peppy. Should I even screw with a performance tuner anymore?

I have the Elite and no problems to date. Also my car is low miles so who knows what will happen. In your case I'd probably forget about a piggyback tuner. If the car feels good and you aren't needing to go fast just forget about it.

btw - The Dinan has a two year warranty - so you might want to talk with them.

Thanks for the reply and the two year warranty info,, I have been in contact with Dinan via email. If they will replace the unit I'll just plug in the new one and see what happens. As far as power is concerned, most of my driving is speed limit plus on freeways. Always good to have a little extra power to get around the slow pokes. I don't do any track or such, so don't need a tuner for that. You are probably right. If I REALLY don't need it, forget it.

But - do you/did you notice any seat of the pants increase after installing the Dinan Elite for everyday driving?

Yes, a big improvement. It makes sport mode a lot more powerful at low speed. In traffic I can't use it because of the torque.
