Active Driving Assist

I got home yesterday with our 2019 Cooper S convertible. Loving it so far but we were struggling through settings when we noticed that nothing in the active driving assistant package was functioning. We have the Iconic trim package listed on the build sheet and and window sticker but the buttons to control following distance while on cruise control are not there. Am I missing something here? We enabled the settings for collision alert, set the cruise, and ran up to within ten feet of a semi on the interstate and no warning, no slow down. Am I missing something here or is my car missing something?

I thought adaptive cruise control was a separate option. The Iconic package doesn't come with every option as standard.

I found the answer. Active driving assistant is NOT the Driver assistance package.
Thanks N0B0DY.
Went back to build and price and found the discrepancy. Live and learn.

I see you got your answer. I recently asked on here why it was so hard to trigger the collision warning system (I don't have the active cruise either as that was an extra option). The best I could do in testing by swiftly approaching another car (quite aggressively I might add) was getting the red light appearing in the instrument cluster with no audible warning. You can find it in the manual, but the way I interpreted it was there are two levels of warning, the first just the red light with no audible, and level two "imminent" I think was the term the manual used. Level two triggers an audible warning and maybe the automatic pre-braking, but if you're triggering a level two, you are gonna hit something but hopefully react to lessen the impact. Again, this was my interpretation of what I read, so I could be off.

Seems a bit odd. We traded a Lincoln MKT for our MINI that had collision warning. On our way to the dealer it activated when a car swerved in front of us and I was hard on the brakes with abs chattering away. It did its job and we avoided the dreaded collision on the way to pick your new car. I don't want to be notified of an imminent collision, I want to be notified of a possible collision.

Roblectric, I agree it's odd. Here's what I found when looking around. The first bit here is how I read it.

Prewarning is dash light only for "impending danger" from vehicle distance between vehicles too small

Acute warning with brake intervention is dash light and acoustic signal when there is "imminent danger" of collision. (So I had to look up "imminent"...ha ha)

It's from this online owners manual for f55-f56 page 167

Set the warning to go off earlier so that you have more time to react.

I can tell you that it saved me. I had it set for the closest distance and I was coming up over the crest of a hill and there were stopped cars. The system lit up and beeped. I nailed the brakes and stopped with over a 2 feet to spare.

My gear would be getting rear ended with the car controlling my stops that radically/
