Slow accelerating, at 15 mph RPM suddenly drops very low, then comes back (GreenMode)
I'm driving in Green Mode these days, and I am very light on the throttle and know how to steadily increase the throttle.
This morning I was at a stop, and then I was accelerating slowly (trying to get up to 30 mph) but at 15 mph suddenly the RPM almost dropped below 1K as if the engine was going to stall. There was no "clunk!" this time (I experienced this couple weeks ago in a stop and go highway traffic jam) and I don't think anything could have been damaged in any way, but it felt like a software glitch or a hardware communication trouble for a moment.
I don't think it was about to change gear but I don't know because the RPM wasn't that high anyways. Maybe it was trying to change gear and couldn't decide which gear to change to. It felt as if it lost communication with my accelerator pedal for over 1 second and came back to life. I immediately pressed the pedal harder just in case, and it went back to normal behavior after that.
I think there's something wrong with the software in Green Mode. I also had automatic idle-stop disabled. I keep using Green Mode because I learned how to control the throttle well enough and I like idle coasting in higher speeds. I also use automatic idle-stop only when oil temperature is higher than 150F and when I know I'm going to be sitting in a red light for a while.
My software version is F056-14-07-506 (July 2014) with production date Sept 2014. This is a 2015 F56 with automatic transmission. I currently have about 500 miles, and this is the second time making this kind of hiccup without any error traces.
I know there's an updated software version F056-14-11-503 (November 2014) version and don't know if anything is better on that version, but the dealer can't update mine because there's no service bulletin for this problem.
Trip detail: 12 minute drive, average moving speed 18 mph, coolant 69.8F - 158F, oil 140F, engine 814 rpm - 2278 rpm, average 23 mpg.

I dunno but it sounds like the same thing you had before, only the engine didn't completely quit this time. Wasn't this suspected to have to do with the auto shut off feature in some way? I was on the R56 forums for quite awhile and there are 2 F56 things that I never saw there: the "clunk", and the manual tranny slipping out of first gear while driving.
Ive seen this on a few f56's before. They are right, there is no bulletin for it BUT they can program the car to the latest software for you. All they need to put into the story is that They are updating to a new software. Ive seen tons of no communication faults on these cars, and momentary "glitches" like you are describing, every time in my experience, a software update will fix the issue.
Might try another dealership?

Thanks for the encouragement. I stopped by MINI Portland (the only dealership in OR) this morning to set up an appointment next week. I explained in detail of 3 problems I had or am experiencing. (super clunk in stop-go traffic, and this no-communication with the accelerator pedal, and the surging upon brake pedal release issue in D).
They said they'll provide a loaner which is nice. The symptom mentioned in my first post only happened once in the 600 miles I have on my 2015 F56, so it'll be hard to replicate. Even then, I thought it is important to document everything and make BMW/MINI aware of issues for future updates.
