Have seen a couple with these popped off. Its the way you grab the door handle with the thumb placement. Otherwise pressing it a certain way it pops off. You can also pop it off by insert the key into the secret hole underneath the handle.

Speaking of doors, my single complaint with the car has to do with the little black button you press to lock or unlock the car with the Comfort Access (or whatever they call it now). Sometimes I can lock with a single press, sometimes it takes a few--usually the latter. Anyone know if this is something that can be adjusted, or why it works that way? It always unlocks with one press, and the right side seems to be a one-press lock.

I really wanted to get the comfort access ($250 option) but I didn't go for it after reading those weird things you mention. But then I see some people mention it works really well once you get used to it.

I wouldn't have bothered, but it was part of a package. Used to be $500. I certainly don't need it!

For the CA Comfort access option, you have to press and hold for a couple sections. On a new MINI the rubber on the micro switch underneath seems to be tight. Once you get used to doing it , its fine.

Thanks, I'll give it a try that way!

I experienced the same issue of having to press multiple times to get doors to lock. It seems to be related to passenger door being locked/driver door unlocked (when you exit).

Another post somewhere on the forum referenced a couple of "solutions": 1) press the unlock button when you get out of the car 2) change the settings to not automatically lock doors while driving. I've found both methods allow a single press of the CA button to lock the car.

Hope this helps.

Since I have my F56 in the shop for several repairs, I am with a loaner F56S right now. They are both 2015 models, built around September 2014.

The F56S's key hole cover is in place very securely. I mean really secure, I can wobble it but couldn't take it off with just pressing on it or sliding it. So I think the door handle itself is different from the one I have.

I called the dealer yesterday and asked them to fix that too, and today they said they replaced the door handle so I'll have to see how it goes with the key hole cover. I hope I don't have to glue it again.

Might be an updated part now.
