F54 Remote Battery Replacement

Today I had warning light telling me I need to replace the remote battery. Has anyone had this issue? Anyone replace the battery in their remote or did you have to have dealer replace it? Anyone know if there is reprogramming involved if I do it myself? Car is still under warranty, but not for long.....

It's a pretty simple procedure. Pull out the key, pop open the back, replace battery. No memory issues.

I trained myself on the first fob and did it with ease, and no nicks or divits... on the second fob.

Of course, for the record, during the initial factory warranty period the dealer will replace the fob batteries for free. But what's the fun in that, other than free lattes from the machine in the waiting room?

When they remove the latte machine and install beer taps instead, Gearhead60 will be getting his fob batteries replaced every Friday at 5:00, and driving home with great care...

Of course I consulted my owners manual (PDF version) and figured it out easily. I even had the battery in stock in my battery supply. Fortunately, I did it before 5:00pm on Friday, so I wouldn't ****** it up while under the influence.

Consulted owner's manual = minus 5 points
Did it sober = minus 10 points
Used existing stock of batteries thus missing an opportunity to run an errand in your Clubman... even with your award-winning garage sale load, you don't have enough points left to cover the deduction for that.
Sorry. Clubman Club is a tough room.
