Quote: Stopped by my Mini dealer to do an early oil change on my new 2020 JCW HT. While there they had just received a 20 clubman S All4 in Coral Red with a black top still in shipping wrapping (hood, top). Unusual color. But I liked it. Kind of red, pink with some orange tint. Metallic flake seemed silverish to me and really made the color pop. I know someone on here is waiting for a car this color.
Waiting!!! Feel like it's December 20th and Santa's never gonna get here.

So, based on what you saw, do you think a Melting Silver roof and mirrors was a reasonable configuration with Coral Red??

So do I, and, more importantly, so does She Who Must Be Obeyed......

I collected a lot of favors to get that Melting Silver built. You are gonna hear more than you ever wanted to about it when it arrives at my Left Coast dealer in a couple of weeks.

I need to start practicing my poker face so I can do one last hard grind on the final price negotiation.... Who am I kidding? I'm so doomed.

Looking forward to your experience and seeing the actual car. Post lots of images. Waiting is no fun but gotta pay to play when wanting something different.

Your enthusiasm encouraged me to google Melting Silver and I realized it was the paint that I had on my long(ish) term convertible loaner. That car really grew on me and I am usually very "meh" on greyscale paints. The seats definitely helped! (Saddle Brown / Melting Silver)

<3 If that loaner was a Manual I may have tried to buy it from them...

My JCW landed in Halifax and will get onto a train out west to Calgary. Can't wait! Have a buyer hopefully lined up for my Paceman JCW this weekend

Pretty cool!

I did a bit of hyper-stalking today and watched my Clubman's ship enter Manzanillo Bay from the Caribbean side of Panama and then dock. Scheduled to lock through tomorrow after off-loading a few vehicles for Central/South American delivery.

It will be early/mid October before I lay eyes on mine. You'll be motoring, fast, by then.

I remember tracking my MINI back in 2004 through the OL and WW site. , it was soo high tech at the time. Now you can get really detailed maps.

You can now build 2020s on the MINIUSA web site. Good way to pass the time while I watch my ship sitting at anchor today waiting its turn to transit the Canal.

The Coral Red looks a lot different on the MINI USA site compared to your pic. Which is closer to reality?

That's the $42,000 question!!!! Time will tell. Notice there is no option for a Melting Silver roof if you go with Coral Red Iconic on the Clubman build page, making me feel rather special . There are issues -- the updated USA site is not quite ready for prime time yet.

I'm just imagining 2017All4 making build after build and scoffing to themselves "Hah! not nearly as cool as mine!" every time.

=]

I'm hoping the US site is incorrect in the representation of the color. Though it's either a badass coral color or a super unique red, either of which I'd be happy with. I think this will definitely be a "need to see it in the metal" paint options.

I built myself a Clubbie. BRG with a melting silver roof/mirrors, black "net spoke" wheels, Indigo blue interior, illuminated frozen blue dash panels. Under $38,000. Feeling pretty good about my potential life choices.

Then I literally screamed aloud when I got to drivetrain and couldn't select manual. (Good thing I'm the last man standing in the office tonight)

I totally forgot about the MINI 6MT emissions issues!!! Any news on that front? Is the US going to get a new MINI with the correct number of pedals ever again? I'm having a mini panic attack about this truth me told.

It is my belief that every MINI owner feels his/her MINI is the coolest one on the road -- as it should be!!

Even if it's an imaginary MINI? Or a potential MINI?

My FIAT is certainly the most reliable mini I've ever owned. XD

It would be helpful if the MINIUSA configurator could at least do all currently possible domestic builds for all models -- I'm not confident it can yet.

But then, one can "world travel" and build MINI's using configuration tools from other parts of the world, just for giggles. That's how I landed on mine.

Yeah, I'm really encouraged by your experience that if I play nice and play my cards right I can get exactly what I want instead of the three variations of boring that they order for the sales floor to avoid rocking the boat.

That said, I'm not sure I see a brand spankin' new MINI in my future... but who knows, my wife is really set on the idea of the EV. If it drives as good as her rose colored memories of her R56 she'll buy one during the test drive. XD

Yeah, playing nice is always a good plan. Even when I'm grinding hard on a dealer, I'm always "nice" about it. This time around, I'm told I need to be a bit less grindy and even nicer -- my much better half says the deal our dealer proposed is generous enough, considering how the dealer really went to bat for us. Still hoping for October incentives on 2020s. I'll report out the final numbers when the deed is done. Unless I'm ashamed of myself.

Canal Cruisin'
Shots taken this morning as the ship locks through the Gatun Locks, on the start of its westward journey through the Canal. My wife says the coral red object visible toward the bow of the Dionysos Leader is a Coral Red Metallic MINI Clubman S All4, heading toward our garage:

Out the west end of the canal this afternoon, heading on up the Central American Coast.

Here we are approaching and going through and then exiting the final Miraflores locks:

I was just as glued to the webcams when I bought mine. The worst part is losing your bird's eye view between the time the ship docks and the time the truck arrives at the dealer. Excited for you!

It will be pretty funny when they whip the silk cover off the car in the dealer just to reveal a coral red lifeboat. XD
