Minimum size wheels on 2017 justa Clubby?

We have an old set of wheels with good snow tires (leftover from a TDI VW), and rather than sell, I'm considering keeping them for use on the Clubman in winter. They're the standard German car 5 x 112 bolt pattern used on VW, Audi, BMW, Mini, etc. Offset 50 mm, Center Bore 57.1 mm.

Only problem is, they're 16" wheels and the Clubby comes with 17s. Allegedly the larger front disc rotor on the Mini is 11.6", so in theory they should fit. Also the existing Mini tires are 225-45-R17, which equates to 25" x 8.9", and the snows are 205-55-R16, which is 24.9" x 8.1". Thus, they should fit in the wheel wells and not rub when turning.

Has anyone tried putting 16" wheels on a new Clubman? Will they clear the brake calipers?

I'd expect a 16" wheel would fit just fine. Tirerack suggests a 16" fitment for winter wheels and tires for that vehicle.

I had no issues with 16" wheels on my F56 S and I suspect the brakes would require the same clearance.

The hub diameter on your car is larger than the bore of your wheels. I don't believe those wheels will mount regardless of clearance.

Youd need spacers that adapt the hub bore or you would need to machine the wheels larger. Mini is something like 72.XX mm or 74.X? I forget exactly.

Yep, thanks, found out the hard way... the center bore on Mini wheels is freakin' HUGE! As such, VW wheels (even with the correct diameter and bolt pattern) will not fit
