Tuning in Germany? Near Nürnberg (Katterbach Kaserne)
Howdy!
I have been a lurker for a while, but I have PCSed to Germany and now its time to trick out the mini for the Autobahn and German driving!
I've done the prerequisite pulley, plugs, belt, and recently dropped in some larger injectors. Now I am looking to do the cam and get a tune. Can anybody recommend any shop in Bavaria, or within a decent drive, to get a tune done? With the time difference I am wondering how practical it would be to get a remote tune from the states.
Anyways, anybody in this part of Germany want to go driving some time? Let me know!
LT out!

If you do a European tune (assuming it'll work on a US-spec car), you might wanna have some way to swap and store tunes for the emissions test back in the States. abuzavi was in H-berg for a long time and might have some insight for you but he's in Hawaii now running his fool head (feet) off!! One word of advice: be sure to take your first couple of laps on the 'Ring a bit slow as it is NOT quite like what's on the Hexbox! There's no reset button IRL!
Cheers!!

Yeah, I understand that. I fly UH-60s, so while it might seem like an awesome idea at the time, I respect that machines at high velocities can kill you. Especially when we are motivated by testosterone.....
A friend of mine was telling me today some of the stateside guys did a tune for his US spec M3 by doing pulls and recording them. We got a section of B13 and B14 which are unlimited, so maybe i can do it that way. I am doing further investigation, but I was just curious of there was anybody people used.

Don't get me wrong, I loved my 'Ring time and absolutely trashed my OEM RF tires on this last trip to there. Just don't tell HH6 as there's only got 16k miles on them and I'm almost to the TWI. :/

This was my thought as well...
So I went the route of just purchasing the AltaAccess port with their tunes. It's the closest and most convenient way to tune from where I am located (Wiesbaden). I just emailed them to see if they could alter some of their tunes depending on my upcoming modifications. Hopefully they will be able to and it will be as simple as a quick download to the port.
