What fuse to tap for Cig/Power
 

I installed a Cigarette Adapter in my euro parcel shelf to power my cell phone hidden and I got a Fuse Tap to power it.

Can anyone recommend what fuse to tap to supply power for it? I would prefer one thats "always on" but if thats not possible, a key-on one will do. I want one that wont kill my car, so thats most important!

I'm pretty sure the fuse hasn't changed for 05/06 but maybe someone can confirm it.
That fuse comes on with ignition.

Hmm Fuse 36 if for front defroster and is 5A.. is that the one you used?

I ended up just 'reusing' the existing slot for the cig lighter.

If you tapped into Fuse 32, the cigarette lighter, did you find that that circuit was always on (providing power)?

Very smart idea and it is so surprising that MINI hasn't recognized that we need things like this for our cell phones, GPSs, radar detectors, computers, etc.

It will not be dependent on the fuse as to whether our not you drain your battery but rather on the length of time that you have an accessory attached without starting your engine, as well as the power drain of the device. Cell phones, radar detectors, and GPSs should be just fine for more than a day. Computers (or inverters) can be a problem.
