HOW TO:Change H11 bulbs Fog light bulbs??
Hi all,
Like to get any advise as to how to change my H11 fog lights bulbs?
Thinking of upgrading to whiter bulbs but no clue how to get the stock ones out.
I have the front aero front bumper, does one have to take out the front bumper to take out the fog light bulbs?
Thanks in advance for any inputs.
Cheers

Thanks for the inputs, was really hoping do not need to take the front bumper out for taking out the fog lights bulbs...
Really no way around it? .....does anyone that have the bently manuels shed some light on this?
thanks..
cheers
the lights are BEHIND the bumper... sooo no... unless you remove your wheel well and squeeze you hand in there and do it blind... but 4 bolts COMMON! its like a 3 min removal process. mine is longer since i have ALTA rally lights which only take me 10 mins to remove my front bumper...

you can litterally remove the front bumper in less than 10 min. it is very easy. BTW, I am thinking of yellow fog lights, they work better than anything else in fog, but I do not know the cool factor.

No need to remove the front bumper. Turn the wheels so you gain access to the fender liner and remove the clips (if your careful you can reuse them). Pull the liner out a bit and remove the bulbs from the fog housing. It's much easier than removing the bumper. I changed both bulbs in under 10 minutes.
I tried turning the wheel but couldn't get to a couple of the plastic "screw clips" holding the fender lining on. I ended up taking the wheel off and it made it a lot easier. You don't need to remove all the clips to get to the bulb, just enough to pull the lining out. FYI, the screw in part of the clip is VERY easy to strip. Also, hold the outer portion of the clip so it doesn't move while your unscrewing the inner part. Take your time with it, it's pretty easy.
Ok so what kind of bulbs are there in H11? Is there such thing as a H11 Silverstar? Or is Piaa or Hella make a bulb that fits? I want to put new bulbs in the fogs, I know Silverstars are great but is there an H11?

Go with Hellas http://www.rallylights.com/hella/H11.asp
RallyMINI, I really like your whiter fog lights. I cannot find any decent fog light bulb replacements for under 60 dollars plus shipping
; at that price its not worth it yet for me to change them out. If you don't mind me asking, what is the brand and make of the bulbs you have in, how much did they cost, and where did you buy them? I am tired of searching various online dealers and pictures and I want the clean look of your setup.

I have bought bulbs from Eric at Supreme Power Parts in the past and been very happy with them. I finally have some yellow fogs and superwhite high beams on the way and will post pics as soon as I can

Blue fog lights are exactly the wrong thing - they cause additional glare on fog. Use yellow or white.
Hint: you can use H-9 bulbs, which produce 2100 lumens instead of the stock 1400. If you also use the yellow stone-guard plastic protectors, you get a really bright yellow fog light, which is excellent.

Mine are very white...but even then still have some yellow in them. My eyes can't percieve any difference whatsoever between these and the OEM ones besides color. Effectiveness is obviously not hampered a noticable amount.
ok i see oldrick is under the idea that most mini owners want funtionability or even legality. truth is we dont care about either (usually) its all about looking a little different from your buddy
