Don't you hate it when you get flashed?

Has anyone else with OEM Xenon's noticed that some people think because your lights are so bright you are driving with your hi beams? I've had a couple people slow down, get behind me, and then start flashing their hi beams at me.

Annoying!

Ditto - I've had many people here in So Cal mess with me because they thought I had my High Beams on. I just give them a little flash back so they realize I wasn't purposely trying to blind them...

Are you sure your headlights are adjusted correctly? If they are, you shouldn't be blinding anyone.
Not sure about the '05s, but the '04 has a very distinct cutoff that makes it obvious where the light is (and is not) shining.
Something to check, anyway.

Yeah, they are adjusted correctly. It's definitely not the car ... it's people who think that bright lights = hi beams.

The 05 does have a distinct cutoff. I haven't had a problem with them blinding people. In fact, it seems to be less of a problem than other vehicles I have without zenons.

Too Bright

I didn't get the white lights because I find cars with them so obnoxious. Maybe it is because all of my cars are too low . . . I know they aren't on high beam but I flash because I'm pissed you're blinding me. Nothing you can do about it . . . Maybe we should sue the manufacturer of the lights and demand they give all other drivers night sunglasses.

"The 05 does have a distinct cutoff"

so is there a difference between the '05 xenons and previous years xenons in terms of pattern of light thrown out and light cut off?? what other differences?

I think that it also maybe that people think that you are flashing at them..

The Mini Cooper has a very firm ride and dips up and down on uneven road causing the sharp cutoff to seem to bounce up and down. Thus, oncoming drivers may think you are flashing at them..

I have a 05 MCS with HID

my friend has an 03 MCS and gets flashed all the time. he has the xenons, driving lamps, and fog lights. I just wish you could quickly turn on your high beams, fog and driving lamps after being flashed just to show them what its like when you really mean business in a MINI!

I just flash-back, smile and wave.
